About the property

Long Leisurely Walks, Stunning Scenery, Cosy Evenings by the Log Burner ....

Nestling on the edge of the Blackwood of Rannoch and just a few minutes walk from the shores of Loch Rannoch (where water sports & fishing are readily available); this is the perfect tonic for those seeking a rural and tranquil get-away. We're dog friendly ... so now the whole family can enjoy a restful escape!

With trails for mountain biking, an abundance of walks, and an equestrian centre offering riding lessons in the area, plus red squirrel, pine martin, capercaillie and herds of stag practically on the doorstep .... it's a nature lovers paradise.

The property can accommodate a maximum of four people. Towels, bedding, linen, electric and oil-fired central heating are included in the price. Logs for the wood burner can be purchased from the local shop.

Guests should note that The Log Cabin is on a private spring water supply which is not treated with chemicals and is naturally tainted brown due to the peat content. We recommend bottled water for drinking.

Would not recommend this lodge,

  • 3 of 5

Did not really enjoy our stay at all,the pictures are very deceiving, looks very pretty but when you get there it's very tired looking, needing a total refurb, outside was like a builders yard hence the reason we cut our break short and only stayed 2 nights instead of 4.

Lovely, cosy cabin a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

The Log Cabin was so cosy and a welcoming long weekend away. Amanda & Davie were fantastic lovely hosts and the birthday cake & card left for my fiance was such a kind and thoughtful treat.

Would definitely come back and recommend to friends.

Remote log cabin

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable, secluded, great spot. The log cabin is about 20 minutes drive from the village, and the road is heavily potholed, so drive carefully (or walk) and enjoy the scenery.

Peace and Solitude

  • 5 of 5

Had a fantastic stay in The Log Cabin. Amanda's directions were very helpful in finding it - it is in a remote area so these were very handy! I'd booked the cabin for a long weekend for my mum's birthday (thank you for the cake, it was delicious and gone in about 5 minutes!) and wanted somewhere away from everything to have a quiet relaxing weekend. This was in the perfect location - close enough to Kinloch Rannoch for anything you needed but you still felt like you were in the middle of nowhere - I kept getting way too over excited every time I saw a Robin! We spent most of the time walking and taking in the gorgeous views of the loch and from up various hills of the surrounding area all the way over to Glencoe. The cabin provided all we needed - it was lovely and warm with comfy beds and a hot bath which was much appreciated after a day of walking. There was even a netbook provided for internet access. The kitchen was great - the oven was really easy to work and it had everything we needed.

All in all it was a great holiday, we both loved staying here!

I'd like to thank you both for leaving the cabin in spotless condition ... it was greatly appreciated. We hope to welcome you both back to Rannoch at some point in the future.

A rustic and peaceful cabin.

  • 5 of 5

We immediately fell in love with The Log Cabin - the fire was burning despite it being the middle of summer (much appreciated by 4 Aussies!). The unexpected welcome pack, especially the scones and sponge cake, and plentiful breakfast supplies were much appreciated. Although isolated, one of the cabin's attractions, it provided a cosy nest to return to after exploring the scenery and history of the north west of Scotland and beyond. The cabin is spacious, very clean and we were fortunate to see red squirrels through the kitchen window. We highly recommend a stay at this highland cabin. Thank you Amanda and Davie!

This property is on a private spring water supply and the water is naturally tainted brown by the peat. We recommend bottled water is used for drinking ~ a complimentary 2 litre bottle is provided upon arrival and additional bottles may be purchased from the village shop. The access road to The Log Cabin is a rough dirt track through the forest, it is not tarred and it does have potholes. Guests who have cars which are very low to the ground may have difficulty on the access road.
