A 19th century farmhouse with spacious accommodation on one level in a private setting approximately 3kms from Aignan, a pretty historic fortified town with a good selection of shops, bars and a good traditional restaurant.
The entrance door leads into the spacious hallway with a modern lounge with exposed beams and French doors leading to the terrace. The lounge also has two double sofa beds. An archway leads through to a well equipped dining kitchen area, which has French doors leading to the terrace and can also be accessed from the hallway.
To the right of the hallway the first double bedroom has exposed beams and stonework and a large feature fireplace with wood burner. It also has a double sofabed for use if required. The second double bedroom has an open fireplace . This bedroom has a connecting door through to the large modern tiled bathroom with bath, separate shower, sink and WC. The bathroom is also accessed from the hallway. Also at the end of the hallway is the separate guest WC and a laundry/utility room.
At the rear of the property there is a delightful terrace with wooden table, ideal for outside dining, which overlooks the private pool and garden. The pool has a sunbathing area, table tennis area, and a large covered terrace with lovely views across countryside .
All in all a charming property in a peaceful location, rural but not isolated, yet ideally situated for visiting the many sites of the local area.
We stayed at Pujol for two weeks and had a fantastic time. When we arrived we were stunned by how beautiful the house was - photos of it struggle to do it justice, it really does look that good. Inside is stunning too, with plenty of room and everything of a high standard; very clean and comfortable. We'd been met by the 'housekeepers' and taken to the property; this was a lovely touch and they were very helpful and welcoming - the welcome basket was much appreciated too.
We spent many days enjoying the pool and patio area which, in such peaceful countryside surroundings, is difficult to drag yourself away from. However, there are so many lovely villages and places to eat and go that it was worth heading out now and again, especially in the knowledge we would be returning to the house and pool to relax later. We made good use of the provided BBQ.
We would highly recommend Pujol to anybody wanting a great holiday away from it all, with the freedom to relax and take it all at your own pace.
