Rose Cottage is approaching her 200th birthday and is the most picturesque of Yorkshire stone cottages in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors. Located in the village of Goathland, famous for its Heartbeat and Harry Potter connections, this Grade II listed building is a gem with wood burning stoves, original features and an enclosed cottage garden with great views.
The lounge features traditional beamed ceilings, a wood burning stove and comfortable leather sofas and chairs, it has Sat TV and a DVD player. The fully fitted country kitchen is again set under original beams and is equipped with all self catering essentials. There is a spacious dining room with a wood fire and a utility room with laundry facilities. There is also a downstairs toilet.
The ground floor bedroom has a King Size bed and en-suite shower/toilet room. The room is accessed via two steps down from the lounge and has its own French doors leading onto a back patio. There are doors and curtains seperating it from the lounge.
The first floor houses a further four bedrooms. There is a bedroom with a king size bed and en suite toilet/shower. A larger family room with a king size bed and two guest beds (2 singles). This family room has en suite bath, shower and toilet. A further small single bedroom and double bedroom (with king size bed and guest bed) share access to a family bathroom with stand alone bath tub, shower and toilet. There are two baths, three toilets and three showers upstairs in total. We also have a travel cot if needed which can be used in place of one of the guest beds or in addition to them.
There is an enclosed garden all around the cottage and a patio area with outdoor seating and a BBQ for the summer months. There is ample parking to the side of the cottage for three cars while another car can be parked on the driveway.
Dogs are allowed but this must be agreed in advance. Travel Cot and High chair available. There is free WiFi throughout the cottage. Bed linen and towels are provided for your arrival. Please note that the cottage is strictly non-smoking.
Rose Cottage is welcoming and comfortable for guests looking to enjoy this popular location - If you're looking for a charming country cottage from which to enjoy this beautiful area then this is the one for you.The cottage itself is just a short stroll away from the village shops, steam railway station and tea rooms. There are also three pubs within ten minutes walk which all offer evening meals and of course Whitby is a short hop by car, bus or steam train.
Walkers are truly spoiled for choice with the nearby Roman Road, Rail trail, Mallyan Spout waterfall, the stepping stones at Darnholm or there is always Beck Hole for relaxing with a pie and a pint.
This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
Lovely welcome from Emma the host. Roomy kitchen and dining room for family meals Lots to do in the area despite the weather! :-) Will definitely recommend, and hope to be back again soon
Great position in characterful village in heart of Yorkshire Moors. Walks plentiful from the house, cars didn't move till mid week as we took full advantage of steam train excursion to Whitby, plenty to do including cycling and 'Going Ape' for the youngsters in Dalby Forest, later in the week. Coast and country all close.
Rose Cottage offers good facilities including a large dining table for those all important meal times and quality time together. Well done Emma. Thanks
The house is close to the shops of the town, yet it seems to be in the middle of the countryside. It is very comfortable for a big group and very well equipped. We were three families staying together and there were five rooms, four of which with en suite bathrooms. The kitchen had everything you'd need to cook for a big party of eleven and there was a big table in the dining room for all of us to share meals. Another plus was the beautiful garden, which we were able to enjoy on sunny afternoons. Totally recommendable
Great customer service right from arriving. Location is fantastic for NYMR, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay etc. Very quiet location.
The cottage has all your basic needs throughout..it's a beautiful cottage in a beautiful place..really enjoyed our stay.
