Recently built wooden Alpine Chalet - wood stove, hot tub, 3 bathrooms, 4 beds

Sleeping 8, Chalet Milou is a recently built traditional wooden alpine chalet with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large open living area which offers a wood burning stove, walk round balcony and hot tub. Its recent build to high standards ensures warmth, comfort and relaxation to guests year round. Morillon is a traditional French alpine village rather than a modern ski resort so it maintains a lovely family atmosphere. Chalet Milou is very close to 3 different ski lifts all offering rapid access to the vast Grand Massif ski area. Morillon is just a few hundred metres walk away, and the beautiful historic village of Samoëns with its lovely main square, shops, restaurants and markets is just 1km. Chalet Milou also has its own generous private garden with outside BBQ.

The main living area is on the first floor: the large modern fully-equipped kitchen has a full height american fridge, separate freezer, 5 ring gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, raclette set and all the modern equipment you would expect in your own home. It opens via a breakfast bar onto the dining room with an 8-seater wooden table, which flows through to the sitting room with sofas, TV, and wood burning stove. Satellite TV (all UK Freeview channels), WIFI, as well as a powerful bluetooth speaker is provided with connections for streaming or playing from your own Laptop/PC or mobile device. The generous wooden balcony surrounds the living room and has an area with a large hot tub. On a separate part of the 1st floor is Bedroom 4 (double or 2 twin if preferred) with a bathroom opposite with WC, sink and shower.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is 25 m2 and has a double bed, balcony and ensuite bathroom (bath, separate shower, WC and sink). Bedrooms 2 and 3 are both double/twin and are 20m2 in size. All bedrooms have ample hanging and storage space for guests clothes and belongings. Bathroom 2 is located next to the bedrooms and offers a bath with shower, WC and sink.

The ground floor has the main entrance, heated boot rack, ski rack and shoe storage.

We fell in love with the authentic village atmosphere in Morillon many years ago. We first owned a chalet here in 1999, and have now moved even closer to the centre, restaurants and lifts. Chalet Milou offers the perfect combination of comfort, tradition, modern comforts, a peaceful location, and proximity to all amenities and lifts.

Lovely chalet in a beautiful setting

When we arrived at the chalet we were surprised to see that there was a self contained apartment (Exige) on the ground floor which was rented separately (with a small patch of outdoor space). As we were looking for privacy that might have put us off at time of booking so I am glad we didn't know because we barely noticed the tenants and it still felt like the chalet (Milou) was 'ours'. We loved the walks in surrounding woodland and mountains, although we were disappointed that dogs were not allowed in any of the nearby lakes. At the chalet we enjoyed time on the balcony and Graham was on hand for any help we would need. The house is very well kitted out, comfortable, clean and cosy. We thought it was great value for money.

Great Chalet for two families

We had a fantastic stay in Chalet Exige. We were shocked how huge the chalet was for 8 people, it took us a while to find the 4th bedroom, so we certainly felt we had enough space for 2 families. The bedroom with the wendy house cupboard was great fun for the kids to sit in and play games of an evening. Sking from this Chalet was very straightforward there is free parking just opposite the village ski lift, about a two minute drive away, with some fun skiing off the trails through the trees easy to find and amazing powder in Flaine even if when snow conditions aren't great lower down. In the evening if you can pull yourself away from the comfort of the snug chalet, Samoens is only a few minutes in the car, it is beutiful with lots going on. Whilst this chalet is not ski in ski out this chalet ticks almost every other box on any skiers list, we were very pleased with our choice and would highly recomend this chalet it is good value for money, big, comfortable, clean, and a good locaction for sking and looking about locally.

Ideal family ski base

We have taken Winter holidays in the Alps many times in the last 20 years and this must be near to our favourite Chalet so far. The location is perfect if you want a bit of peace and quiet away from the resort but is still very close to get to the lifts and also easy to walk to all the other services though a car makes life more flexible. Fiona has just started letting the property and everything was new and spic and span, Nearly everything has been thought of and catered for and when our new grandchild was added to the list Fiona even bought a new cot for her to use. Gayle and Graham, the agents, were incredibly helpful particularly when we had a minor problem with the hot water on day one. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Our rates our fully inclusive of bed linen, 2 quality towels per guest, wood for the woodburning stove, use of the Hot Tub, and all utilities. Guests should leave the Chalet tidy and clean. Whilst we have the Chalet professionally cleaned after your departure, any excess cleaning required will be charged from your Security Deposit.

One of the major benefits of Chalet Milou is that it is in a quiet wooded rural surrounding, and yet is just a short walk (400 metres) to the ski lifts, shops, bars and restaurants of Morillon village. It is also only 1 km from the beautiful village of Samoëns with its well know facilities. For the summer, the swimming lake, tennis courts and climbing park of Morillon are within 1 km.
