About the property

Detached, Private, Mountaintop Villa With Two Bedrooms, Pool, And Stunning Views

This luxury villa is set in a quiet urbanisation on a mountaintop overlooking the Mediterranean. The 180 degree views from the front of the villa are quite stunning - all the rooms benefit from this. To the rear is an enclosed private 9x5m swimming pool where one can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. All rooms have hot/cold air conditioning making the property suitable for year round rental. The villa layout ideally suits two couples rather than children. One bedroom is located down three steps from the lounge, the other is accessed from an external staircase. Quirky but interesting. The lounge, diner and kitchen are open plan. The villa has been refitted with quality furnishings and is fully equipped to make your stay a real pleasure in an unusual and relaxing environment. All rooms have hot/cold air conditioning.

Please note: due to the quiet location, external staircase to the double bed bedroom and unfenced pool area this is not suitable for young children.

About Michael Murrell

Hello, my name is Michael and I am the proud owner of the casita that you have just looked at. I also live next door. I moved to Spain 9 years ago initially on a 'try it and see' basis. My plans changed and instead of moving to Javea I was offered a property inland. My initial disappointment changed the moment I arrived. The countryside and the people are fantastic. Here I can live in the real Spain without all the tourists! If I want that, a quick drive takes me to the bustle of the coastal towns. So my move to this property was based on the pleasure of living in the peace and quiet, but all the other options available to me within a few minutes drive.

So whilst I am here to welcome you , I am on hand for any help or information you may need (while being aware of your need for privacy)

Michael Murrell purchased this villa in 2011

Why Michael Murrell chose Benidoleig

The North Costa Blanca (Marina Alta) provides the very best environment for healthy living and natural beauty. The joy of seeing the stars at night as there is no air pollution to hide them! The mountainous landscape with rich green valleys. The heady scent of orange blossom. The Med and its sandy beaches. The quaint little Spanish villages. The food, the wine and the people................. OK I could go on, but this really is one of the most beautiful parts of the world and my decision to move here was very easy. Living on top of a mountain enables one to enjoy the breathtaking vista of the sea, mountains, valley, orange groves and the little villages clinging to the foothills. With the changing light the view never ceases to change. It provides a real 'get away from it all' feel.

What makes this villa unique

It's an interesting mix of peace and quiet, but without being isolated. Take in the views and decide which part of this beautiful area to go and see more of. This villa feels different from many others because it's the right size for a holiday home - space and comforts, but no unnecessary wasted space. The private enclosed 9x5m pool is, of course, a real pleasure. But should you feel the need for a bigger pool the Pool Bar just down the road is freely available, or it's just a 15 minute drive to the sea. The Pool Bar also provides snacks and evening meals as well as a tennis court!

With the unspoiled countryside and mountain ranges this part of the world is perfect for walkers or cyclists. There are organised trips available or one can make own arrangements.

Superb Mountain retreat , with breathtaking view.

This is our third successive visit to Casita Leon and it just gets better every time,

You could not ask for more it is true home from home furnished to a very high standard , beautifully clean and tidy , a brand new utility room this year and new patio doors leading out to the stunning pool area .

The host Michael is one very very nice guy who is always there to help if needed but gives you all the privacy you could ever want .

we had a great time walking his to beautiful rescue dogs Leyla and Zac

which helped us in not missing our own dog to much , This villa is in a beautiful part of spain with little restaurants and bars all within minutes of the villa .

we have only been home a week already planning another trip out there .

Thank you so much Michael .

Peaceful escape away

  • 5 of 5

This was the 6th time that I have stayed here. I travel on my own and I am looking for a place to feel at peace, safe, comfortable & a place to re charge. I find all of those things here, made even better by the friendship of the owner and his 2 adorable rescue dogs. I always return home with a little sadness because I have had to leave, but feeling so much better for my stay. It is well worth staying up late to see the sun set over the mountains and to get up early to see some amazing sun rises.

What more could you ask for? Absolutely stunning!

  • 5 of 5

This will have been our sixth or seventh visit to Casita Leon, and it never disappoints. We have visited out of season now in November last year and this January, and were lucky with the weather and of course the amazing views from the property never change. The pool again looked inviting this visit but sensibly we didn't partake, as the water was a touch on the chilly side to say the least. The villa is well equipped, with washing machine, tumble drier and an extra large fridge freezer in the utility room, a good and welcome addition as the fridge/freezer in the kitchen is on the small side. Michael, the owner, as always was happy to bring us up to date about where to eat locally and so on. He is charming, helpful and considerate and will be there if you need him but otherwise will give you complete privacy if that is what you want. He is the epitomy of a good host in a stunning property that has all you need for an excellent stay in this beautiful part of the Northern Costa Blanca. Whatever the season.

Excellent villa, built and presented to a high standard, and managed by a charming host

  • 4 of 5

The villa is located in a quiet urbanisation quite high up proving splendid views across to Denia and beyond. Due to it's position the road leading up is quite steep and winding, but that is the trade-off for the views it presents.

The layout of the villa is very good with one bedroom and shower/wc off the lounge/kitchen whilst the second is accessed by an external staircase. We were four adults and this configuration was ideal as it gave each couple their 'own space' if required. Whilst the facilities were excellent, the addition of a TV in the remote bedroom would have initiated the full 5 stars.

All the utensils and kitchen items that you might need are provided for including additional refrigeration in the nearby utility room.

Unfortunately the temperature was quite cold during our stay so we couldn't take advantage of the beautiful private pool area, but once again this is well presented with tables, chairs and sun loungers available.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this villa.

We tried a number of local restaurants during our stay, but one that stood out for it's quality of food and excellent and friendly people is El Quixote which is on the right just before you get to Orba.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. However, it is a sad day for me to have received my first four star review after five years with Owners Direct. I should point out that to anyone reading this that whilst the suggestion was to have a TV in the upstairs bedroom, there is not one in the downstairs bedroom either, just one in the lounge.

The one thing that I need to stress (as many enquirers miss this) is to take note of my comments that I have made about suitability for children. Basically it is completely inappropriate for very young children. For older children I am happy to discuss further.
