Superb cottage with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my family had probably our best ever stay in cornwall in the beautiful Higher Polgassic cottage. The cottage was much larger than expected and the owners, George and Linda couldn't do enough to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage is light and airy and kept to a high standard with laundry changes midweek which was a pleasant surprise. George the owner even drove us into nearby polperro so that myself and my wife could both enjoy the evening with a glass or two of vino and he also picked us up later that evening.

The views from the cottage and surrounding area are beautiful and it is ideally located to explore all cornwall has to offer.

We loved it so much we even booked for same time next year.

Big thankyou to George and Linda for our wonderful stay.

It was a lot better than we thought it would be.

Mr & Mrs Gilhan made us most welcome when we arrived. The cottage had all the facilities we needed,a lovely lounge, nice double bedroom down stairs,a kitchen with everything in including dishwasher, and a nice showerroom. Upstairs was another bedroom withi two single beds. The garden was kept immaculate and the vista was stunning. We enjoyed our stay and will proberbly go back again sometime the future.

Loverly cottage in a quiet area with great views

  • 4 of 5

Lovely cottage with a good sized garden for the kids to play in located in a quiet secluded area near Lansallos with great views plus hidden away about 3/4mile just past Lansallos was a nice secluded beach, a bit of a walk but well worth a look and a swim if its calm. Our lads also enjoyed having a TV in their room as doesn't happen at home. Once we had got use to the roads, has good access to Polperro which is a beautiful village, shame you have to pay parking at all times of day/evening so no good if only popping in for ten minutes as cheapest was £4 for 3 hours, but still worth a look. Looe is about 10 minutes away and has got everything there you could ask for and looks lovely in the evening with all the twinkly lights on and Fowey another nice village which you can get to by using the local ferry or driving to as ferry cost £4.60 each way, our lads preferred it as cut out some of the driving also some fine beaches around the area.

We found the Eden project well worth visiting and not far away from this location, Charlestown as seen in Poldark was also a nice port to visit with the Shipwreck heritage Centre being of interest, just past Lizkeard is a karting place which myself and my boys did our bit as the next Lewis Hamilton, very enjoyable and if you were feeling brave there was Zip wires across a quarry and all other sorts of high adrenalin activities to take part in.

George and Lynda were very welcoming and gave good advice about where to go, we also had a towel change mid week which was much appreciated and with broadband soon to be added, we will certainly look to come here again as there is so much to see in Cornwall and would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely cottage, everything you need, great owners.

  • 5 of 5

Very nice cottage with everything you need for week away. Very warm, comfortable and clean . My children were especially taken with their bedroom. Fantastic secluded and private garden and field to let the kids run around in. We liked the location, it was rural and quiet, less than a 5 minute drive to the carpark and then a pleasant 15 minute walk to the little shingle bay, there is a coastal path to follow and explore to other beaches but unfortunately we ran out of time to do this. Half hour away from a big supermarket, but only a few minutes from the local shops. George and Linda couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, we also loved Flo and Jen the dogs. We will, without a doubt recommend this cottage to our friends and would stay again. You could easily stay here for a week away and not really have to go anywhere, just wandering to the beaches or relaxing in the garden enjoying the view.

Peaceful holiday in a beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at the cottage it was even better as we imagined. We only had seen some pictures but the cottage had almost everything you could wish except a wi-fi connection. Lucky for me there was a good reach for my smartphone so problem solved. There was plenty of space in all rooms and the kind owners have thought of almost everything you'll need. 2 good bedrooms, a wonderful shower and a seperate bath. In every room there was a modern television with lots of channels. Dvd, radio, dishwasher, fridge. You name it. And the views are great. You can see for miles looking out through the window of the livingroom. Lots of space to park your car. The only disappointment was the need of a pub nearby. There was one in Polperro, a few minutes away, but you had to park your car outside the village and pay 4 pounds at least. Then you had to walk all the way to the pub which was in the centre.

That's why we drove 10 minutes to a village called "Looe". There was everything you could wish for. Pubs, restaurants, a harbour, and at the end around the corner there was the Hannafore Point Hotel which had a good restaurant, a terrace outside and it is 60 feet from the sea with a beautiful view.

When you drive 90 minutes from the cottage you can reach everything from Torquay till Land's End.

If only we were more lucky with the wetter It could not have mbeen a better holiday for us.
