Michael born in Rochdale, Janet nearby in Oldham. Living in Halifax West Yorks, I used to be an Insurance Broker until 2001 then joined youngest brother in his existing buisness cutting down trees and Janet looks after everything else. We started renting short term with a Villa in Menorca [Owners Direct Ref No. 8000840] some 19 years ago which is proving very popular.

Very clean and homely. Would stay again..log burner great. Lovely walks locally and very close to Windermere. Only marked down for no washing machine.

Lovely cottage within easy reach of the facilities in Staveley plus beautiful walking country. The shower is a delight after a long day on the fells, as is the wood burning stove!
A Wonderful Place to get Away from it All
This is our third time at Willowdene and we absolutely love it. The location is close enough to all the wonderful places in the Lakes, but still has that tiny village feeling, with absolute quiet at night. Kitchen was well equipped and the renovated bathroom is great. We will be back!
Value for money acconmmodation
Excellent accommodation. Everything you might need for a comfortable stay (except no WiFi - which Michael is looking into).
Very impressed with the host's communication before we arrived.

If you are looking for a small traditional stone cottage in a quiet location with good views then book as you won't be disappointed.
Ideal location for many activities and days out or if you just wanted to leave the car and walk into the village to visit the brewery, artisan bakery/coffee shop and then head to the pub, it is a great spot for doing just that, as we found out on the Saturday.
Excellent communication from the owner and thanks also to Chrissy, who lives 5 minutes away if you need anything.
All was as described and hope to get to stay again soon.

Great base to explore the Lakes
We stayed here whilst I was completing the Great North Swim and I can only describe it as perfect for what we needed.
Location about 15minutes from Windermere and without all the hustle and bustle of the tourist. House is decorated nicely and obviously well cared for, beds were comfortable and the shower was great (just what I needed after the swim!!). Local butchers, bakers and brewery for breakfast and evening drinks.
Communication from Michael was great and thanks for the recommendations for restaurants! Will definitely be back!

“The property was purchased before the bypass was started, traffic flowed relentlessly towards Windermere in the mornings and returned during the afternoons. Crossing the main road was a No No! However the bypass made Staveley village something of a backwater. It has evolved into a village with all that that is needed for a short break from the boredom of the evreyday commute. Kentmere River is just a short walk and if you are up to it you can follow it to its source in the fells.”

Staveley village is a small but busy village catering for you every need please see attached the local website.
Among a local micro brewery, Artisan Bakery, Spa, post office, Wheel base bike shop, Numerous Cafes included the well know Wilfs Cafe. Garden centre, Art gallery & Slate shop.
The local bus service has a stop at the bottom of the lane.
