Keats Loft, A Charming Self Contained Holiday Apartment Situated In Teignmouth

Overview

Property

Updated: 02-Dec-2016
Sleeps 2, Bedrooms , Bathroom 1

Welcome to Keats Loft, a charming self contained holiday apartment situated within Keats House, in the heart of the historic fishing port of Teignmouth and only a few paces from the famed river beach with its many attractions.

Positioned on the second floor of Keats House, a delightful regency town house (where the great romantic poet John Keats lived in the year 1818), the loft offers comfortable and stylish self catering accommodation for two persons.

Created in 2012 and giving generous living space, access to the apartment is through the main house. It offers a spacious lounge with a view across the estuary to Shaldon, a built-in kitchenette with ceramic hob, sink & drainer with mixer taps, fridge, microwave oven, toaster and electric kettle, 3 seater sofa and matching armchair, dining table & chairs, digital free view television & dab / cd hifi, as well as secured wi-fi broadband access. The bedroom has twin beds, chest of draws and ample hanging space for clothes. There is a 'quirky' bathroom with varying ceiling heights and stylish fittings comprising bath, w.c. & top mounted wash basin on vanity stand with illuminated mirror above & a heated towel rail. All towels, bed linen and a hair dryer are provided along with local maps & guides. Parking is available close by at several 'pay and display' public car parks.

Teignmouth, the 'Gem of South Devon', offers all you need for a relaxing break in a tranquil setting. Within this friendly historical seaside town you will find an abundance of characterful pubs, local art galleries, craft shops and restaurants of all specialities. Being a maritime centre, those looking for boating, fishing and diving facilities are well catered for.

The Teignmouth Folk, Carnival & Jazz festivals are hugely popular events, taking place in June, July & November. Visitors may also wish to explore the city of Exeter with its wealth of culture and shopping facilities, being only 15 miles away, a short & scenic railway journey from Teignmouth.

Dartmoor & Exmoor are both within easy travelling distance by car. Across the estuary lies the quaint village of Shaldon, which is accessed by a foot passenger ferry from Teignmouth river beach.

We loved our stay at Keats Loft. Mike was very welcoming and helpful. The loft is very cosy, and Teignmouth was a fantastic little town for a quiet weekend getaway from London - just what we were after. Thanks!
