'Little Bird' is a recently refurbished Georgian 2 bedroom home in Deal's beautiful conservation area. It's just one street away from the beach and award winning High Street. We use 'Little Bird' as a place to relax. With this in mind we have made the house like home from home with feather pillows and duvets, pocket-sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linen and White Company towels, relaxing sofa, Smart TV and all basic condiments in the kitchen catered for.

The house is set over four floors, on the ground floor is a sitting room with Smart TV and wi-fi which leads into the kitchen. The courtyard is accessed from the kitchen through double doors. On the first floor there is 1 double bedroom with a king size bed which can also be made into two single beds. The second floor has a double bed and the room is open to the rafters. The lower ground floor is the dining room.

We have just fully refurbished the house in a stylish and contemporary way. Everything has been chosen with care and with comfort and practicality in mind. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided along with White Company towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen. Plus there is a washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. We stay at the house a lot and wanted it to feel like a proper home so if you want to cook a roast or bake a cake or just snuggle on the sofa and read a book it's perfect. We also have wireless wi-fi, a smart TV and Netflick's. A log-burner will be fitted this September.

The bathroom has a shower but no bath. However you can choose to either shower using the fixed head or a separate showerhose if you didn't want to get your hair wet. The shower is a good powerful one and we have provided an inflatable bath for babies.

Also for children is a travel cot, potty, high chair, baby gate for the stairs, a baby step for cleaning their teeth and reaching the sink..

As the house is set over four floors there are 3 flights of stairs that may feel a little steep for the elderly and very small children - hand rails have been fitted (though we never personally use them).

I am available to talk to by phone at any time if there are problems, whilst not based in Deal we are nearby.

Normal -CHECK IN is circa 3pm with CHECK OUT at 11am. If we have no guests coming straight in, and subject to the changeover team- these can be amended to allow a later check out time.

As this is a home we spend time in we have left basics in the house, as I hate going to self-catering accommodation and there is literally nothing. The basics are there: washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/salt/rinse aid, washing powder, toilet roll, kitchen roll, and some basic food products such as rice, pasta, bouillon, olive oil and herbs etc.. There is also a small welcome gift for guests.

There are towels provided for guests, however please could you bring your own beach towels.

Also if something breaks or isn't working let us know so we can make sure we fix it and ensure the house is tip top for you and the next person staying.

And finally but importantly our neighbours are lovely but please respect them and try not to be noisy late at night.

Deal, and particularly the conservation area is wonderful. Lots of little streets full of beautiful buildings which have remained untouched for century's. Everything is a stone's throw away - the sea, the high street with it's amazing independent boutique shops and high street stores can be walked to in minutes. It is a happy community and everyone is happy to help visitors enjoy the town. A full guide of restaurants, coffee shops and places we like to visit in Deal and the surrounding areas such as Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Folkestone is available when you stay.

Free parking is available beyond North Street on the sea front which is three roads or a couple of minutes away, so unload at the house and then park. We find we rarely use the car when you are here as independent food stores and supermarkets are nearby. There are regular bus and train services within a 5-10 minute walk from the house.

I totally love being by the sea and no where is quite as beautiful as Deal. My husband and I often rented cottages around the UK but they were seldom comfortable and poorly equipped. So after a lot of hard work on the house we have created a beautiful seaside holiday home for you to share with us. Both my husband and I are always contactable by phone so should you need any advice on where to eat, places to visit or where to lay a picnic blanket simply ask.

We booked for 3 nights and it was perfect.Great location , great facilities and the beds are to die for, I tried both. Emma was helpful from the moment of booking and provided helpful information on local restaurants and events. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again

wonderful stay

a great deal of thought has been put into furnishing and renovating this tiny house. very comfortable beds, tasteful decor, well equipped attractive kitchen, thoughtful touches such as placement of light switches easily reached from beds, excellent bathroom (although a shower shelf would be good), and of course the location near shops and promenade, as well as helpful owners whose quick response time must be record setting. and clean, very clean. thank you emma and rob.

Well located, cosy, and welcoming house.

We had a lovely three day stay using this comfortable house, as our base. It's well equipped, comfortable and very tastefully furnished. Photos don't quite do it justice! In a beautiful part of Deal near all amenities, shops, seafront and restaurants. Beds very comfortable, heating very easy to operate and quickly warmed the cosy house mornings and evenings.

Emma and Rob were very flexible and welcoming, all contact with them was very easy and efficient. Useful information in the house file of local places of interest etc. Appreciated an email on our first morning to check all was ok. Would highly recommend this house.

Just What We Needed

Not been to Deal before & was very pleasantly surprised. Clearly an up & coming town with some really good restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, artisan shops etc. The cottage is in the conservation area, which is lovely ....... a kind of cross between parts of Suffolk, old Portsmouth & the good bits of London.

The 4 story cottage is as described in the 'blurb'. Very clean, comfortable with some nice homely touches ....... but quite minimalist.

The location is perfect ........ out of the door turn left & you are on the seafront withing one minute, turn right & you are in the nice bit of the town shops etc within 2 minutes. Its very quiet due largely to the fact it is in the conservation area & therefore traffic is minimal.

This cottage is perfect for 2 people & more than adequate for 4. It would not be suitable for anybody infirm as the stairs are very steep & narrow. Places of interest nearby are Walmer Castle [English Heritage] & well worth a visit [a 30 minute stroll along the seafront, Broadstairs is also worth a trip out.

The owner Emma couldn't have been more helpful & responsive to any questions & takes a justifiable pride in her property. Basic foodstuffs were left for our arrival [very rare in my experience] & her tips re restaurants, cafes etc were spot on. We can certainly recommend 81 The Beach [restaurant], the fish & chip shop in Middle Street & Poppies Cafe ? ....but there are so many places to eat drink & Emma is available to help ........ there is also a useful guide in this respect in the cottage

If we travel to Deal again [which is very likely] we would not hesitate to stay at Emma & Rob's cottage again. We have already recommended it to several friends/relatives

Excellent communication from first booking to arrival. Emma and Rob have a lovely house in one of our favourite towns Deal and what a lovely house in a wonderful location. It's like home from home. Comfortable and relaxing - we spend most of our time in Deal - its wonderful. Lay in bed in the morning and listen to the seagulls, go for a morning stroll along the sea front and pier or wander round the quirky independent shops (Deal was voted high street of the year in 2014). Or simply relax in the house.

The price includes linen and towels (changed weekly for stays of two weeks), all electricity and heating, basic supplies of tea, coffee, sugar and milk and household items including bin bags, washing up liquid, tea towels, toilet paper and basic condiments. Free wi-fi and netflix's.

Bookings are made on condition that the house is looked after and remains in the condition that you find it. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions which you should read before making a booking. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit money has been received and a confirmation email sent to you.
