The Siesta apartments complex in Port d'Alcudia (Mallorca) is beautifully located between the mountains and the lakes of Alcudia, and only 800 metres (10 minutes walk) from the sandy resort beach of Port d'Alcudia.

Needs new sofa and a paint - very basic and not that clean

The owners of the property were very helpful- when we arrivedd we found the apartment to be ok but not to clean standards You would expect- although were meetd and greeted by a lovely lady

The sofa in the apartment was the biggest let down and can only be described as filthy- it was not a pleasure to sit on actually !

Owner's Response: We appreciate this feed-back and the time taken to share these views with us and the rest of our prospective guests. We note these guests stayed for a week-end in early March ahead of the summer season as part of their research to buy and rent apartments themselves . The apartment is being renovated for the new season. Plastering and a new fresh coat of painting have been recently completed in late March 2017. New PVC doors in the living room balcony are being installed in April-May 2017. This will address the issues of the apartment looking "tired". As a result the apartment looks fresh and crisp. We use a professional cleaning company to get the apartment ready and feel that by having redecorated the apartment the comments on cleanliness have been addressed adequately. Regarding the state of the sofa we can only apologise. We were not aware it was on such a poor cosmetic state. We replaced the sofa at the end of last season and would have expected it to be in a reasonable condition. Our local management company advises it would appear be slightly stained with oil (possible suntan oil from previous guests) that has warped the colour in places. This has been cleaned following the last guest departure using a vax machine. We intend to replace the sofa bed unit entirely in due course. We aim for all of our guests to have a pleasant experience visiting the area and to enjoy the apartment facilities.

Spacious apartment, nicely located and having lovely views

We were familiar with the area as we had previously (8 years ago), rented a 1 bedroom apartment in the neighbouring Siesta 3. We found Andrew, the managing agent, very helpful and knowledgable. He showed us the the pool sunbeds reserved exclusively for the apartment; the pool itself was beautiful and not crowded. The apartment was clean and had almost everything we required. It could probably do with an update but everything worked ok and we were very comfortable. We hardly used the air conditioning as we used to get a nice breeeze flowing through the apartment. I would recommend hiring a car as it gives the flexibility to use the neighbouring (less crowded) beaches - we liked Playa de Muro, and also the bigger supermarkets. Also, it is useful for driving to Port Alcudia and Pollensa for a choice of restaurant

A bit disapointing

We were expecting something better for 4 star and the pictures were not really representative of the apartment i.e., no pictures on the wall, looks lovely and clean where in fact the apartment was not that clean and we started our holiday by sweeping and mopping the floor, the pillows were stained and the cushion that was on the bed in the lounge was ripped, the apartment was jaded and in need of redecoration.

We had extremely noisy neighbours opposite who kept us await every night until at least 3am, we did complain at reception and for 1 night the noise abated but returned again the following night. The pictures give the impression that there is a small water park, however this is in the next complex and we had to sneak in. The entertainment at the next door Siesta 1 was diabolical. The beach was quite a long walk away, although you could hire a horse and carriage at a cost of 10 euros but this proves expensive when you then have to hire sunbeds at 10 euros per 2 and with a young child, the walk is too far (although worth it when you get there), but quite crowded.

On a positive note the owner provided comfortable sun beds that we could use but the area around the pool isn't that big so you have to be up quite early to get a decent spot. The surrounding area was quite pretty and there were plenty of restaurants that provided good value for money meals.

Would definitely go to Alcudia again but would not hire this apartment.

We are very sorry to hear about the noise disturbance caused to you and your family during your stay. Neither ourselves or any of our guests have had a similar experience. The Siesta 2 apartments block is traditionally family friendly and located in a quiet area of the Belle Vue resort in Port d'Alcudia. We are disappointed to hear about your experience by means of this review as unfortunately there is nothing we or our local agents can do now about it. We have however contacted the president of Siesta 2 and he will get in touch with the owner of the neighbouring apartment to ensure this does not happen again. We respectfully disagree with your observations regarding the state of our apartment and its cleanliness. Our apartment (which our family also uses now once or twice a year) is being offered to travellers in a fit and functional state on a self-catering basis as advertised on the web page. We are following a process of ongoing redecoration and incremental improvements to make it more to our taste and of the majority of our prospective guests (immediate plans before summer 2017 include renovation of kitchen and living room areas). We use a reputable local firm "Ideal Services Alcudia" to manage the onboarding/departure and support to our guests and to ensure the apartment is clean on arrival (including clean bed sheets and bathroom towels). We have been reassured the apartment was clean just before your arrival and in a fit state when our agents met you and your family at the apartment at 1.00am in the night. Previous feed-back we have received also this season from other travellers highlighted how clean our apartment was. So we are afraid this may be a case of different personal standards and expectations. The beach is indeed 10 to 15 min walk away for a fit adult. There is a tourist bus service near our apartment, "The Ting Ting Train", leaving the Belle Vue complex every half hour: 4€ a day for adults & 3€ a day for children. It takes you to the beach or the port. No need to use horse and trap you have suggested. We note the rest of observations regarding neighbouring facilities/entertainment but they are not in direct relation to our apartment. We are glad you agree with Port d'Alcudia being a great holiday resort and we are looking forward to hosting any travellers wanting to enjoy our family apartment.

Brilliant apartment

Really happy with this apartment. The apartment is spacious and offers everything that you require. Kitchen area offers everything that is needed. The twin bedroom & double bedroom were very spacious with a lot of storage room. The living area offered 2 further beds and a sofa and plenty of room around the dining table.

The apartments are close to local shops and bars and the beach.

We went to siesta 1 to use the kids play pool area and I don't think you are really allowed in there so be careful if asked by staff members!!

The owner was helpful and replied to enquires quckily before they stay and the people who met us with the keys were also fantastic in helping with our transfers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking to book again for next year.

Nice apartment with lovely views, great location. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Apartment is clean and has everything you need. Everything is walking distance or the reception staff can order you a taxi to the old town or the port. Alcudia has a fantastic beach and lots of shops and restaurants. The market in the old town is worth a visit as well. Very relaxed and didn't want to leave!!

Great apartment near a great beach

Property is on the outskirts of town but only 15 mins from a lovely beach.

The apartment had everything we needed including air conditioning. Andrew who met us was very helpful and provided the travel cot and high chair we wanted. We had a lovely stay. The kids loved the entertainment and splash pool at red lion pub next door. I would recommend hiring a car and exploring the island we found some amazing beaches.

The restaurants around the marina are particularly good.
