Fantastic homely cottage for families

  • 5 of 5

I agreed with a previous review that the photos don't do the cottage justice. It was very clean and well maintained in a modern cottage style which is more my taste than a lot of the dated cottages we have stayed in before. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 and we loved the wood burner. My only very small downside is the downstairs bathroom was cold and there wasn't the greatest selection of pots and pans, so a good excuse to eat out more! Otherwise a fantastic cottage and we will definitely be back.

Fine place

  • 4 of 5

St. Minver is a very central place in North-West Cornwall. The most impressing part of the coast on either side of the mouth of the river Camel is very easy to reach, but also Wadebridge, a very charming little town, is nearby offering everything you may have to shop for your holidays.

St Minver Cottage is a very spacious house for 6 people where you find everything you need and in very good condition. The cottage is well equipped with all facilities you need to feel at home. It is situated in a very calm area. Those who want to sleep a lot or long in their holidays are just at the right place. The local pub is just around the corner. Never order plaice and chips there, it really is batter plus chips and some salad.

We had to get acquainted with the aga-oven, which first left us quite helpless. Later we found that it equipped us with permanent warmth and it turned out to be quite easy to handle. Nevertheless we could not stop wondering what an enormous waste of energy this system is. Thank God there is youtube to help you managing.

We did not feel very well cared for by the housekeeper who we did not meet and failed to contact for some requests. There could be a field for a little improvement.

Summarizing: a fine, but over-priced, place for a relaxing holiday.

Nice comfortable property but the garden is not private

  • 4 of 5

Nice, comfortable and well equipped property. But disappointed by the garden which was listed as - "private garden and beautiful views to the front of the property." The garden is separate to the cottage with a public footpath running between it and cannot be described as private as the path is one of the main entrances to the church.

Owner's Response: We are pleased you found our cottage comfortable and enjoyed your stay. We are sorry the garden disappointed you. The lower part of the garden with the barbecue is completely private and is not overlooked at all and whilst the upper part is next to the footpath this usually has at most 3 or 4 people per day walking along it (except for the Sunday morning church service when this is a few more) regards Nick and Caroline

Wonderful cottage in an excellent setting.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage lived up to our expectations in every way. Access to the cottage was good, and the instructions provided by the owner were comprehensive and easy to follow.

The cottage itself was very comfortable, and provided excellent accommodation for our party of four adults and two children.

The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location with easy, trouble free access to the local beaches and amenities.

We would certainly return again.

Pictures don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week in St Minver cottage, and would absolutely recommend it to other families. Our children (aged 2 and 5) both loved the size and layout of the property, which was even better than we had expected from the pictures. It is within a short drive of Rock, Tintagel and various other beaches, and is situated in a tranquil and safe setting. Can't recommend it highly enough.
