Maison du lac is beside the lake at Grolejac witch has a safe swimming beach

Maison du Lac has recently been totaly refurbished to a high standar. It stands beside the lake of Grolejac. The lake is peaceful and no motors boats are allowed to use it. There is a tennis court within a few minutes walk of the house. There is an attractive 9 hole Golf course at Vitrac on the Dordogne about 5 kms from the property.

Gorlejac is on the Dordogne river and has 3 restaurants, bakery, butcher, small supermarket, 2 canoe station and a cycle path which extends along the old railway track to Sarlat (10 kms) and Souillac (30 kms), Medieval Sarlat is only 10 kms away and the preoperty is well placed for all the chateaux, bastides and other attractions of the Dordogne valley.

The caves at Lascaux and Padirac, Rocamadour and the vineyards of the Lot Vallet are all within an hour's drive. The area is renowned of excellent restaurents and wonderful markets. Canoening is very popular and Grolejac has 2 canoe stations on the Dordogne river.

A beautiful location within easy reach of many picturesque villages

Maison Du Lac was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Excellent WiFi and a good selection of English TV channels available. Forty five minutes drive from Brive airport, and convenient for the Dordogne and Lot regions. A few shops in Grolejac, but a good selection of supermarkets in Sarlat. Would highly recommend it.

Excellent! Highly recommended!

This was actually our first time in a gite and the Maison du Lac proved an excellent choice. The accommodations were beautifully presented, perfectly clean and absolutely lovely. The setting is idyllic, on the side of the lake. The beach on the lake is a short walk away and was clean, with toilets! There is a good restaurant a short walk the other way - great setting and very eclectic menu. The house has good wifi, and all the main UK television channels. The beds were comfortable, and the showers were hot. Fans were provided in the bedroom but we didn't need them. A few mosquitos as you are close to the lake, so bring bug spray, if eating there in the evening citronella candles are available at the local store. Not many towels provided, so would recommend you bring some extra with you! The nearby mini market and bakery were well stocked. Slightly too far to walk to but a short drive for delicious fresh croissants each morning, enjoyed on the spacious balcony. Barbecue provided but never used - salads on the balcony suited us better.

The area also exceeded our expectations. Great canoeing option from Grolejac. Loads to see and do in the area, beautiful medieval villages and castles, troglodyte caves, great Saturday market at Sarlat (which has loads of restaurants too).

Would highly recommend the Maison du Lac. We will definitely go back again!

Maison confortable, bien entretenue , situation calme en pleine nature

Location a recommandé, bon restaurant a 300 metre, reservation souhaitee en saison, commerce a 1 km. Village acceuillant et tres sympha.
