Enjoy a peaceful, rural location. West Pennicknold Barn is an ideal home from home for those wishing to relax in an unspoilt part of Devon and is just over one mile from the village of Shebbear with its public house and a village shop.

Sleeps 6 + infant - Three double sized bedrooms, with master en suite. A Grade II listed barn, with vaulted ceilings and amazing views across the beautiful Devon countryside. The spacious kitchen is well equipped and large sitting room has a wood burning stove. Located close to the Tarka trail and within easy reach of Bideford, Bude, Hartland Point and the striking village of Clovelly. Other tourist attractions include many beaches, the RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal factory, Tamar Lakes and Dartmoor.

About Deborah

Steve and I moved into the main house in August 2015 and are enjoying learning about all the area has to offer. I have two grown up girls and Steve has three grown up boys, almost the Brady bunch! (A funny for those old enough to remember!). We were both brought up in North Kent and decided to move to Devon. Here we are, our dream come true, in this beautiful area.

My family brought me to Devon for a birthday treat, not far from where we live now. We stayed in a holiday let and had an amazing time. It made me realise this is what I wanted to do, to get away from the 'rat race'. We looked at so many properties with holiday lets and fell in love with this property. Just over a year later we had made it reality! Living the dream...

Best barn ever

We so enjoyed our stay in this barn. We have stayed in other converted barns and this was by far the best conversion. It was immaculate, comfortable, spacious, quiet and cosy, and the WIFI signal was great. We highly recommend it.

Thank you to Debbie and Steve for making us so welcome and for being there to sort out any little problems should they arise, great hosts.

Family wedding gathering

Fabulous stay. Very high standard of accommodation, lots of nice touches. Welcome pack of essentials really helpful, tea, coffee, liquid soap etc. Beautiful views from the lounge and dining windows.

Lots of room in shared areas for group eating and relaxing.

Large garden area as well.

Only extra thing would be a hand held shower attachment in the bath room.

Beautiful Barn conversion. Clean, Modern and quiet.

Stayed here with my family between Friday 9th and 12th March 2018. We arrived on a rainey day and I was greeted by Debbie and Steve with their lovely friendly smiles and characters. On entering the barn conversion I found a home from home (without the clutter!!). Immaculately clean, warm, modern and very well equipped. At night it was very quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Most of our stay was rainy but it didnt stop us getting around and we found the barn a central position to allow us to do this. Only criticism was the main bathroom could do with a shower over the bath. With 6 people sharing one shower it made it quite a slow process getting ready. Great en-suite shower though and lovely fresh fluffy towels. Our whole stay was amazing . I will definitely be recommending this property to everyone I know! Thanks for a great week end.

A home from home, beautifully presented

We were delighted with our choice, both Debbie and Steve were on hand for any queries and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay.

The barn was spacious, lovely and warm and very well equipped. This is one of the best holiday lets we have stayed in and we would not hesitate to recommend to our friends.

Me, my husband, our two daughters, our nephew and my mum have just returned from a break at west pennicknold barn. The barn was very clean, fully equipped and felt like home from home. Booking Notes:
When you book the holiday property you should pay 50% of the rental rate amount then due, by card payment or bank transfer. We accept pounds sterling only. Once the you have returned the completed Booking Contract and the Initial Deposit have been received and accepted by us, we will issue you with our written confirmation. The contract between us will only be formed when we send you our written confirmation and is subject to these terms and conditions. There is an additional charge of £200.00 which converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival, this is refundable subject to no damage/loss to the property, contents or premises either reported to or found by owner.
You are required to make your payment for the outstanding balance of the Rental at least eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date as set out in our written confirmation. However, if you make your booking less than eight weeks before the Arrival Date, you must make a payment for the booking in full by card payment or bank transfer, at the time of booking.
If you fail to make a payment due to us in full and on time we may treat your booking as cancelled by you.

We will hold the Security Deposit to be applied against the reasonable damage of/replacement of the property, furnishings, fixtures and fittings and premises. We will return the Security Deposit to you in 14 days from the return of the keys to us, less any deductions in accordance with the conditions listed above.


Changeover day: Saturdays for weekly bookings during the summer months.

Depart by 10am.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
