Enjoy a peaceful, rural location. West Pennicknold Barn is an ideal stay for those wishing to relax in an unspoilt part of Devon and is just over one mile from the village of Shebbear with its public house and a village shop.

Sleeps 6 - Three double sized bedrooms, with master en suite. A Grade II listed barn, with vaulted ceilings and amazing views across the beautiful Devon countryside. The spacious kitchen is well equipped and large sitting room has a wood burning stove. Located close to the Tarka trail and within easy reach of Bideford, Bude, Hartland Point and the striking village of Clovelly. Other tourist attractions include the RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal factory, Tamar Lakes and Dartmoor.

About Deborah

Steve and I moved into the main house in August 2015 and are enjoying learning about all the area has to offer. I have two grown up girls and Steve has three grown up boys, almost the Brady bunch! (A funny for those old enough to remember!). We were both brought up in North Kent and decided to move to Devon. Here we are, our dream come true, in this beautiful area.

It made me realise this is what I wanted to do, to get away from the 'rat race'. We looked at so many properties with holiday lets and fell in love with this property. Just over a year later we had made it a reality...

Perfect

The barn is fantastic. Fully equipped, a real "Home from Home". Situated off the beaten track, ideal for a peaceful stay away from it all. Although secluded, only a short drive away from Torrington where we enjoyed a delightful cycle ride along the famous Tarka Trail. A little further will find you at Bideford and then on to Clovelly or Westward Ho!

We had a fabulous time and West Pennicknold Barn was an integral part of that.

If we were ever to revisit that part of Devon we would not hesitate to book the barn again.

Great chilled out two weeks at the lovely converted barn

Had a great two weeks at the barn. Deborah and Steve were great hosts. Very welcoming and answered any questions that we had. Had a minor issue with the hot water but that got resolved very quickly. The barn has been very well converted to a high standard. The kitchen is well stocked and the lounge very comfortable. The bedrooms and beds are also comfy. The barn is in a quiet but beautiful part of Devon with Bude a 25 min drive away. If its quiet and relaxing your after then this is the place

A Self Catering GEM in lovely North Devon.

On arrival at West PENNICKNOLD Barn we were greeted by the lovely Deborah who had welcomed the first of our group of six, 2 daughters and husbands then my wife and I arrived after, the converted barn has been very well designed with bedrooms on the ground floor, day accommodation on the upper floor with lovely views across the Devon countryside. As we all come from a busy part of Essex and Kent it was so nice to be staying in a place in the country so quiet and peaceful which is within easy reach of the North Devon coast, Dartmoor and Cornwall just as a bonus for us we all went to Port Isaac where they were filming Doc Martin with Martin Clunes.

Well in a nutshell if you lead a very busy life like we all do and you would like some peace and quiet in lovely accommodation with location then look no further than West PENNICKNOLD Barn.

Beautiful barn in a peaceful setting

We visited West Penicknold as a family, grandparents, mum and dad and grandchildren. It was absolutely perfect for our requirements, the barn was spacious and the garden/paddock was just right for the children to play and the adults to relax. The barn was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want, including amazing views across the Devon countryside. Debbie and Steve were extremely helpful, freindly and very welcoming. We would recommend this to anyone who is wanting a relaxing holiday and who doesn't mind a drive (30 mins+) to the more popular Devon tourist destinations. Yes, I would certainly visit again.

Booking Notes:
When you book the holiday property you should pay 50% of the rental rate amount then due, by card payment or bank transfer. We accept pounds sterling only. Once the you have returned the completed Booking Contract and the Initial Deposit have been received and accepted by us, we will issue you with our written confirmation. The contract between us will only be formed when we send you our written confirmation and is subject to these terms and conditions. There is an additional charge of £200.00 which converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival, this is refundable subject to no damage/loss to the property, contents or premises either reported to or found by owner.
You are required to make your payment for the outstanding balance of the Rental at least eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date as set out in our written confirmation. However, if you make your booking less than eight weeks before the Arrival Date, you must make a payment for the booking in full by card payment or bank transfer, at the time of booking.
If you fail to make a payment due to us in full and on time we may treat your booking as cancelled by you.

We will hold the Security Deposit to be applied against the reasonable damage of/replacement of the property, furnishings, fixtures and fittings and premises. We will return the Security Deposit to you in 14 days from the return of the keys to us, less any deductions in accordance with the conditions listed above.


Changeover day: Saturdays for weekly bookings during the summer months.
Arrival from 4pm.
Depart by 10am.
