Apartment sleeps 6 with private steps down to chine with direct access to Beach

Newly refurbished (July 2015) Beach Holiday Apartment, only a few minutes walk down private steps to the stunning Alum Chine beach which has once again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award for its world class pristine golden sands, excellent water quality and safe bathing.

The Moorings has two double bedrooms, one with a King size bed and the other with two single beds and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The Apartment offers all the modern conveniences and, as it has all been recently replaced, everything is in perfect order with a brand new kitchen and shower room. From the balcony as well as being able to see the sea, there are also amazing views over the tree tops of the famous chine.

It is ideally situated, making it the perfect base to explore the area by car or bike, such as the world famous Jurassic coast and the beaches and heathlands of Studland bay, only a short ferry ride away. For the more active holiday makers, water sports and golf facilities are within easy reach. For the families with young children Alum Chine has a wonderful play area and fresh water paddling pool right next to the lovely beach. The apartment lies within a twenty minute walk along the promenade to Bournemouth pier or 5 minutes if you catch the noddy train to all the attractions of Bournemouth town centre including fabulous shopping, restaurants and bars. A ten minute stroll up the tree lined chine takes you to Westbourne village again offering quaint shops, good restaurants and bars as well as a Marks and Spencer food hall, a Tesco express, a butchers and bakers etc. Heading West along the promenade will take you to the stunning Sandbanks beach with all its water sports and recently opened Rick Stein's latest restaurant amongst others.

Cycling along the promenade is permitted all year round except in the summer months July 1st to 30th September it is restricted to before 9am and after 6pm the perfect way to explore Studland. We have excellent transport links: 20 minutes from Hurn airport, frequent train links to and from London Waterloo (1.3 miles to Branksome station, 1.9 miles to Bournemouth station), National express from Victoria to Bournemouth train station every day and of course good road links with the M3, M27 down to the south coast.

This property is not suitable for Hen or Stag weekends as it is located in a quiet residential area with neighbours in close proximity.

  • Main bedroom has one king size bed. Second bedroom has 2 single beds that can be pushed together to make one king size bed. Lounge has one sofa bed approximately 4' wide x 6' long. Not suitable for two adults. Fine for one adult or two children. Although 2 adults have slept on it and not complained. Probably OK for short stays. We can also provided a camp cot if needed.

Don't know if we Will stay again due to being kept awake Friday night and all of Saturday night by a dog barking! Took along time to settle my grandchild. Such a shame😞

Lovely stay at The Moorings apartment

Gorgeously appointed apartment with luxury beds and linen, we loved it! We enjoyed the little extras like the lovely lemon cake and fresh milk and tea. Helen gave really clear instructions on how to reach the apartment as well.

The beach towels were so handy as we forgot ours! Lovely to hear the birds singing in the morning and we enjoyed the short cut steps down to the beach.

The location is great, a 15 minute walk (via the fantastic suspension bridge)into Westbourne which has a good M&S and lovely cafes and boutique shops (there is an art cinema opening too as well)

We hope to return again soon,

The apartment was more than perfect!. Lovely and spacious, clean, everything we needed.

When we walked in we immediately saw how lovely it was. Very comfortable & homely. Bed(s) were comfy and I had a great nights sleep before my half marathon and after!!

It is in a great location, near to the beach & promenade. As many other reviews said the lemon drizzle cake was delicious. Chez Fred fish & chip shop was well worth a visit too.

We will recommend this property to family & friends.

Lovely Christmas stay!

This was our third stay at the Moorings in 13 months which in itself speaks volumes! Christmas is now a very difficult time for us so we decided to spend it for the first time ever away from home and this lovely flat, in an absolute perfect location, enabled us to spend a very different Christmas in an area which we love. Every day we walked along the promenade to either Sandbanks, Bournemouth or Boscombe and around the lovely village of Westbourne with its eateries and coffee shops and then returned to a warm, clean and welcoming flat. This really is a place we would choose to live not just holiday!
