Having lived in Portugal most of my adult life & loving this part of the Algarve, especially Lagos, Porto de Mós was the obvious choice as it still retains its typical Portuguese charm and as this is where I live it seemed the right choice to provide high quality holidays right here

The 'location' - almost absolute beach position

We stayed at this apartment for a week from 8th to 15th September and were met on arrival.The apartment is in a small complex close to the beach and is modern, clean and well equipped. The beach and 2 good restaurants are a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Both restaurants serve decent food but you need to book as there are no other restaurants in the area. There are plenty of good restaurants in
Lagos but to walk to the centre would take at least 30 minutes I would say. There is a bus which stops at the beach but in September they start to operate a winter service so there is only 1 an hour with the last bus into Lagos at 6.40pm. Taxis are however plentiful.The complex has a nice pool with sunbeds and is not busy. This is probably due to the building site behind the apartments and the noise during the day. During the week we were there, the builders arrived every day apart from Sunday and were there from 8am until 6pm and even 6.45pm one evening. This meant we were unable to relax by the pool due to the noise which was such a shame. Had I known about this before we booked I would not have chosen this apartment.
I am sure once the building in the area is complete the apartment will be much quieter, but this is the main reason I have given the score I have.
We visited in June 2016 with a 3 year old and a 11 month old. Spent mornings on a beautiful beach which is only 5 min walk and has two restaurants. Afternoons and evenings by the pool or in town. It is easy to get around if you have a car. Everything is very close, lots of parking and kid friendly. Lagos is really a good place to visit with family.
Property owner and manager were both quick in communication and very accommodating. Apartment is just like in photos.
We would come back here in a heartbeat.
