About the Owner

Our aim is to make your stay at Mas Eve as carefree as possible – after all, this is your vacation! We’ve done the most to ensure that you do the least, whilst still benefitting from the flexibility of self-catering accommodation. Your hosts are an English couple who met in Provence (whilst on holiday) in the late 1970s and have continued to enjoy visiting the region ever since. Once their two sons had grown up and left home, they decided it was time to spend more time in the sunshine, working on a project for themselves.

A Great Family Holiday

A lovely well equipped property - exactly as described. The outdoor covered area and pool were brilliant, shade or sun as required and a great BBQ.

Very well located within easy driving distance of Avignon, Orange, Arles and Gordes.

Internet worked well and there was A/C for the upper bedrooms. A fan was provided for the main bedroom which was needed as we had great (hot) weather.

David and Maria were super hosts, but unobtrusive.

lovely property with fantastic pool area

This property is great value for money. The house is clean and well equipped with air conditioning upstairs. The pool area is private and spacious. But it is the personal touches that make it a home from home. The hosts are very accommodating giving ideas of activities and events to see and will even get your breakfast baguettes and croissants for you!

Thank you David and Maria for a fantastic 2 weeks and we will definitely be back again.

Fantastic property

This is a beautifully restored andmaintained property which is perfect for family visits. Plenty of outdoor activities and and a central location for Provence's many sights.

Maria and David are excellent hosts, helpful if needed but never intrusive.

This estate exceeded my expectations!

My family and I stayed at this amazing property for a week in June. This house is in a perfect location for exploring Provence and is only 25 minutes from Avignon. It was just what we were looking for! My children absolutely loved the beautiful pool, along with the dart board, the ping pong table and the ice creams! The owners of this property thought of everything. The kitchen is well-equipped with things you need to prepare a home cooked meal. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. We loved riding our bikes to the local bakery (near the tiny post office!) in Les Vigneres, a nearby village that has been preserved in time. My sons (both of whom are runners), enjoyed running though the massive apple orchard! I highly recommend this property and we hope to return again in a few years’ time.

A delightful location with a warm welcome

Traditional well presented property, with all you require. It is isolated enough to feel private but in a location that has easy access with a car to a host of activities. Pool area was ideal for families, with plenty of sun traps as well as areas of shade all through the day: A lovely place to relax day and night.

Hosts were friendly and more than helpful; they made us feel welcome and were always available to help with out invading our privacy.

Activities we enjoyed included:- Cycling to the bakers to pick up breakfast each morning where we were made to feel welcome, a picnic / wine tasting afternoon at Domaine de Marotte vineyard, Cycling along the La Véloroute du Calavon (Perfect traffic free cycling for children) and a drive to the top of Mount Ventoux.

Great place for an August week

The listing description is very accurate.The property is very well furnished and maintained. The weather when we were there was quite hot and it was nice to have the choice of enjoying the sun by the pool or being in the house with air conditioning. The owners live next door and were very kind - they cooked us dinner on the first day (by arrangement) and took us to the local bakery/lent us bikes to get there. They also explained something of the history of the house.

There is a nice pool with both sunbathing space and a sizeable sheltered dining area. The dining area has BBQ facilities and a fridge/freezer stocked with drinks and ice cream (on an honesty box basis).

The property is quite remote and you definitely need a car. It is off a busy road and quite difficult to find until you know where you are going. The nearest town is about 10 minutes' drive away and has some very friendly restaurants. We went with three teenage/student boys. We visited some of the local villages and went by train to Avignon.

We would recommend it to others.

During the day, there are drinks (and ice cream!) available at the pool-house, where we operate an ‘honesty box’ system which means no need to worry about keeping money on you at all times – we’ll just tally up the cost and you can settle on check-out. Of course, this does not prohibit you from buying your own supply and keeping it in your kitchen! Evenings at the Mas are what you make of them: enjoy pre-dinner drinks beside the pool before heading out to a nearby restaurant, be the chef and cook ‘en plein air’ at the poolside barbecue, or just enjoy your home-cooked meal surrounded by rows and rows of apple trees.

Mas Eve lies within 7 acres of apple orchards, yet is within easy reach of nearby villages, towns and hiking trails, making it an ideal base for exploring the breath-taking landscapes of the Luberon, the fascinating history of Avignon, the medieval streets of nearby hilltop villages and, of course, the gastronomy of Provence. L'Isle sur la Sorgue, with its riverside restaurants, is just a short drive away and other nearby attractions include Fontaine de Vaucluse, Gordes and Avignon with its cathedral, museum and Palais des Papes. The famous 'Festival d'Avignon' - an annual arts festival held July - draws artists and street players to the courtyard of the Popes' Palace and surrounding areas where they entertain the many visitors. The historic cities of Nimes and Arles are also nearby.

Hiking in the Luberon is a delight, with many well-marked trails incorporating medieval villages and interesting sights en route (such as the Abbaye de Senanque). There is also ample opportunity to hire bicycles if you prefer wheels to walking boots. The area surrounding Mas Eve is steeped in fresh fruit and vegetables, so take the opportunity to buy direct from farmers at roadside outlets or local markets, especially if you are in Cavaillon, renowned as the ‘melon capital of France’!

Once the balance has been paid, no funds will be returned in the event of cancellation. Cancellation more than six weeks ahead of check-in date will result in loss of deposit. If you’d like to have a home-cooked meal prepared ahead of your arrival, then this can be arranged in advance. In fact, you have the opportunity to share the host’s ‘plat du jour’ on other days (subject to 24hrs notice), so there’s no need to seek out a restaurant after a long day’s sightseeing or hiking through the wonderful Luberon region.
