Overview

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2 1/2 Bathroom With Mountain Views Close To Attractions

Nectar Farm is a beautiful home in a private setting at the end of a long dirt road with amazing views. There are three bedrooms: a master bedroom with master bath; and two bedrooms, which share a full bath and laundry. A half bath is on the main floor near a screened porch with a queen futon. The large living room has hardwood floors with ample space for yoga in a sun-filled room with lots of windows. Accommodations include one king sized bed, and two queen beds and one queen futon that's in the living room. Note: The super comfortable beds are Bob-O-Pedic mattresses, which are all CertiPur-US certified which means they are not made with any chemicals or harmful materials.

Our place is perfect for couples, travelers, week-end getaways, a girl’s weekend, artists, nature lovers, yogis, a retreat, parents visiting their kids at local boarding schools, and families (with kids) for short or extended stays. Nectar Farm is perfect for anybody looking for a lovely comfortable place to experience nature for brief or extended stays.

Enjoy spectacular sunset dinners on the screened porch while the kids catch fireflies! Fall asleep snug and safe in your beds, to the sounds of crickets, peepers, owls, and the occasional nighttime call of a coyote or bear.

This peaceful sanctuary is perfect for everybody who loves: easy hiking in fields and quiet forests, bird-watching, snowshoeing in winter, and the thrill of catching sight of deer, fox, turkeys, porcupines and the rare sighting of a moose or bear.

You won't want to leave! But if you do go exploring there is plenty to do in the nearby Monadnock Region, Lakes Region, White Mountains, and Seacoast. If you love hiking, there are easy hikes on nearby Temple, North Pack, Pack Monadnock, Winn, Lyndeborough and Rose Mountains (all seen from Nectar Farm!), and for a challenge you’ll want to hike Mount Monadnock.

And who knows, you just might begin that novel or read novels already written as you restore, refresh and rejuvenate during your stay at Nectar Farm.

While the house does not have air conditioning, there are fans in every room, and the house sits on a hill that gets wonderful breezes. When temperatures climb high into the 90's, the house stays in the mid 70's, the key is windows open at night to let the cool air in and windows closed during the day. The fragrant breezes are lovely and nights on the screened-in porch are magical - so peaceful yet filled with the sounds of the forest and fields - oh, and you might need a light sweater!

About Susan Brown

I am an artist, author, yoga practitioner and teacher. My husband, Aaron is an artist and singer/songwriter and rescuer of cows. We are both stewards of Nectar Farm. His greatest artistic inspiration came from Jean Arp, and my greatest inspiration came from Agnes Martin. We live two miles from Nectar with our cats, Margaret and Bella.

Susan Brown purchased this house in 1995

Why Susan Brown chose Lyndeborough

This property is dear to our hearts because the beautiful natural setting is like a sanctuary; it is so peaceful! We raised our kids here, and now also live 2 miles down the road. When Nectar Farm is not being rented, Susan teaches yoga and art, and we still enjoy family events and holidays together. Nectar Farm is truly magical!

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the mountain views and all of the abundant wildlife and birds, the big moving sky that changes, and the bright stars at night!

Perfect spot for our art-making retreat

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect spot for the 7 of us women to gather from all over New England for a long weekend together. The house seems designed to maximize the impact of the stunning mountain view, and was very clean, well-maintained and thoughtfully outfitted with everything we could possibly need. It was uncluttered, the furniture perfect for 8, the artwork and pottery beautiful. We only left to take walks in the amazing surrounding winterscape. The check-in and check-out times were generous, and the kitchen was equipped with all the things we needed to make large family-style meals. Super comfortable beds, the huge soaking tub in the master bath, and the massive stone fireplace (clean, stocked with wood and ready for lighting), all made for the ultimate relaxing retreat. The space was perfect for our large group, and served us very comfortably as we made art, cooked and ate meals together, played games, danced and caught up on each other's lives. Our host Susan was wonderfully welcoming and quickly responsive to all our questions, but was completely unobtrusive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, brought home many fond memories of our time at Nectar, and will definitely return!

Our place has great views on 35 beautiful acres, is close to art & culture, hiking, and restaurants & dining. You’ll love Nectar Farm because of the views, the location, ambiance, and the outdoors space.

Our place is perfect for travelers, artists, contemplatives, a girl’s weekend, a retreat, parents visiting their kids at local boarding schools, and for anybody looking for a lovely comfortable place to experience nature for brief or extended stays.

Enjoy spectacular sunset dinners on the screened porch while the kids catch fireflies! Fall asleep snug and safe in your comfortable beds, to the sounds of crickets, peepers, owls, and the occasional nighttime call of a coyote or bear.

You won't want to leave! But if you do go exploring there is plenty to do in the nearby Monadnock Region, Lakes Region, White Mountains, and Seacoast. And who knows, you just might begin that novel or read novels already written as you restore, refresh and rejuvenate during your stay at Nectar Farm.

Our place is only 2 miles from the fantastic old-fashioned independent theater: "The Wilton Town Hall Theater," on Main Street in Wilton, which always shows great films and the popcorn has real butter for as little as $1.50.

Many wonderful restaurants and art galleries can be found in Peterborough, Manchester and Keene. We especially enjoy LaBelle WInery in Bedford, NH.

-The closest grocery store, Market Basket, is 10 minutes away in Milford

-Whole Foods and Aldi are 30 minutes away in Nashua

-Nature's Green Grocer (health food market and cafe on the river), Maggies (health food store in town), and Shaws are all about 30 minutes away in Peterborough.

Optional: This peaceful sanctuary is perfect for everybody who loves: easy hiking in fields and quiet forests, bird-watching, snowshoeing in winter, and the thrill of catching sight of deer, fox, turkeys, porcupines and the rare sighting of a moose or bear.
