About Brian & Caroline

We moved to the Charente from the South of England in September 2006. Brian retired from his marketing business, but Caroline still works from time to time as an IT consultant both here and abroad.

Brian and Caroline are happy to help guests with any aspect of their stay and can interact as much OR as little as guests desire!

Brian & Caroline purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Brian & Caroline chose Charente

The cottage offers exceptionally spacious accommodation in the heart of tranquil countryside. Despite being over 200 years old, a complete restoration was finished in Summer 2015 including new roof, floors, doors, windows and insulation and modern amenities throughout whilst maintaining the essential character of this charming cottage and location.

What makes this cottage unique

Tranquil rural setting overlooking farmland, but within easy access of all amenities. Loads of local activities and interest.

perfect holiday, perfect property, perfect hosts

  • 5 of 5

Sitting at my desk in dreary London our stay in Chez Bushell seems a world away. The property is gorgrous, Brian and Caroline have managed to keep the character of the 200 year old barn with the twist of a few mod cons (wifi and TV perfect for watching some late night Olympics) With scorching weather we took full advantage of the pool. Every recommendation given to us whether a restaurant or town was top notch.

cant recommend enough

Un moment hors du temps

  • 4 of 5
