Our home has 4 bedrooms with 3 showers (1x Master en suite; 1 x double; 1 x single with pull out; and 1 x twin beds sleeps 8) Large family bathroom with power shower and roll top bath. We have a stunning fully equipped kitchen family room with French windows on to the deck on a south facing garden. Utility and downstairs toilet and shower. Wood floors throughout and two wood burners in snug and lounge. We have French windows from the stunning kitchen onto a deck and secluded south facing garden leading into a meadow.

Lovely home - perfect base

We used Meadowside as a base for our wedding and absolutely loved it. Huge thank you to Peter who was really helpful, we didn't want to leave but we're off on honeymoon tomorrow so needed to come home and pack!

The house was perfectly located, really close to Porthcurno beach and not to far from Sennen cove, Penzance, St Buryan and the Minack. There is a gorgeous big kitchen, which was perfect for family games! A lovely sunny garden and there was everything else you'd need including clean bedding, two amazing showers, a big bath, fresh coffee etc.

We had a fab stay and would definitely recommend it and look at coming back to stay again!

Fantastic Holiday Cottage in beautiful location

We all thought the house was amazing, the kitchen is fantastic: a chef's dream! The whole house was everything we could have hoped for and our stay was extremely comfortable. The beds were lovely, the showers and bath were great. There were brand new kid's high chair and baby bath to use. I read the earlier more negative review and can't say any of that still applies. The house has obviously been a family home and the family touches of art and books and a fantastically stocked kitchen are what make it so lovely. We will be back!

Lovely house in a beautiful setting.

I stayed with my family at Meadowside and couldn't have asked for a better long weekend away. The house was in perfect condition, it was cosy and homely - just what we were hoping for! The bedrooms and lounge have the feel of a coastal cottage, with plenty of room for the kids. We spent most of our time in the lovely kitchen which provided everything we could have needed. The owners were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We enjoyed breakfast in the sun outside on the deck before heading out to explore the local area.

The house is in a perfect location to explore both sides of the coast. A few minutes drive into Porthcurno provided us with coast paths and golden beaches. In the opposite direction, we enjoyed fish and chips on the pier at Sennen cove and caught a beautiful sunset.

Overall the house is perfect for a family getaway and we hope to return again shortly! Highly recommend.

truly wonderful stay!

I have to say I totally disagree with the only negative review on this property - the price reflects the incredible area and beautiful family home correctly and I can see the other reviews agree with me.

Myself and my family had an amazing week at Meadowside - the owners are lovely and very helpful, the house was immaculate, there was efficient heating and plenty of hot water, the showers are brilliant, there is a brand new washing machine and tumble dryer and the kitchen is very well equipped with a professional falcon cooker, dishwasher and everything you could want and more within a holiday home. (I could go on!) The rooms were simple but comfortable and blankets had been left on each bed as well as useful leaflets of the local area laid out in the lounge. The owners are even kind enough to leave a wonderful collection of books to read. The neighbourhood is peaceful with friendly neighbours, local honesty tables and a park for kids up the road. It is a 20/30 minute walk to some stunning beaches and the garden is the perfect size for kids to play in, with a great decking area and Webber BBQ to use, which is perfect for late evening sun. Couldn't recommend this place more highly, it's a Cornish gem!!

Ein urgemütliches Haus mit viel Platz für eine große Familie

Der Kontakt mit Peter war problemlos und sehr entspannt. Im Haus selbst haben wir alles wie beschrieben vorgefunden. Es ist sehr gemütlich und dabei praktisch eingerichtet. Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die geräumige Küche mit großem Eßtisch läd zum Kochen mit mehreren ein. Auf der großen Terasse und im Garten kann man ungestört die Sonne genießen.

In der näheren Umgebung gibt es viele interessante Ausflugsziele. Ein schöner Strand ist fußläufig zu erreichen, ebenso einige Lokale.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen dieses Haus gerne weiter.

A lovely property with significant room for improvement

Meadowside is a lovely house in a super location. A highlight is the fabulously large, modern kitchen which is what attracted us to it in the first place. We are a family of seven who like to cook on holidays as well as eat out.

The downstairs utility room has everything you could hope for including a toilet, laundry sink and even a shower. There are two very useful porches, the one from the front door has plenty of hooks for hanging coats and space for leaving grubby shoes! The house itself is clean and tidy.

We enjoyed the large, raised level decking outside which you could access through two pairs of French windows. The garden is small but quite adequate for two medium-sized dogs. It is great that this property is pet friendly, although with somewhat poor fencing.

The middle reception room is a bit of an oddity as it has little seating, consisting of a fragile cane seat and an elderly leather chair. The main sitting room has a medium-sized TV with a very good surround-sound system. If all seven visitors want to watch the TV, however, they would have to squeeze in or try and move one of the settees to face the screen.

Upstairs the main bathroom has a very good shower with truly impressive water pressure, and a huge scroll top bath. The ensuite shower and toilet are equally as good.

There always has to be a 'but' somewhere sadly. Renting this property feels like borrowing a friend's holiday home, with little money involved. The musty smell in the original, old house bedrooms, damp marks on the bedroom walls, broken window blinds, hard, lumpy mattresses - which you could excuse from a friend's home - are not welcome or anticipated with a property as expensive as this is.

The dodgy electrics in the old part of the house in some places need rewiring, especially on the ceiling light fitting in one of the double bed rooms. The wobbly bedside lamp in the single bedroom only needs to be nudged to come on and off. None of the extractor fans work, and annoyingly the bathroom window is locked. The bathroom lighting is poor along with the shower light not working, which was probably a good thing as the safety glass cover was completely missing! In the kitchen some of the down lighters are not working with one merrily dangling out of its fitting.

There was minimal contact with the owners and the information pack was difficult to find. There's also no recycling bin/bag. Overall a lovely property with significant room for improvement.

We are close to beautiful beaches: Porthcurno. and White Sands Bay with surfing lessons available. We are also very close to Lands End and The Minack Theatre. There are beautiful sea side villages and towns such as Mousehole and St Ives. Not too far away is The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you are interested in ancient stones and Celtic villages we have the Merry Maidens, Lanyon Quoite and Carn Euny very close by. We are immersed in the world of painting with the Lamorna and Newlyn schools of Art also very close. If you just want to relax and take walks you can do so from the house.
