Ground floor has one twin bedroom with private bathroom, one double bedroom with en-suite. Entrance hall has a washing machine below a curved staircase, which leads to top hall with view point window, opening into a large lounge with fully fitted kitchen, dining area, corner suite, original stone wall... the exposed beams on the ceiling are a magnificent feature. French doors opening on to a veranda with superb views. Large double bedroom with solid wood furniture, french window to veranda, en-suite with shower. Original art work throughout. There is a barbeque on the top patio, with dining table, canopy, fruit trees and sun loungers.The lower patio contains the pool, wooden bench, and overhead vine. There is a solid gate, making the property very safe and private. At the rear of the house there is a private car park with space for three small cars.

A house in a rural setting, ideal for three couples

This house is situated in a rural town in the hills below Miranda do Corvo. It has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. This makes it ideal for 3 couples to stay there. You are close to Coimbra, but in 45 min you can also be at the beach. You can also hike through the forests. Unfortunately it had no wifi, but if you go to the Cafe Avenida in the centre of Miranda do Corvo you can have a cheap drink in a very relaxed environment and check your mail with the free wifi.

On retiring I wanted a renovation project, after viewing several houses in different countries I found this house in a Sunday paper advert, and knew it was exactly what I wanted. There were four walls and a roof, enabling us to create a living space to our own specification .

Nearest Airport : Porto International Airport (OPO) at 170 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Miranda do Corvo at 5 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Quinta das Lagrimas Academy at 20 Kilometres Nearest Train : Coimbra Railway station at 20 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A13 at 5 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Miranda do Corrvo, the capital for chanfana at 5 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Figueira da Foz at 56 Kilometres Car: necessary

Positioned at the top of the village, Quinta has spectacular views of surrounding hills and villages. Facing west, it's the perfect place to watch the sunset. The river dam at Loucainha is 5k away, where there is a pool with lifeguard, restaurant, and snack bar. The ancient town of Conimbriga is the largest Roman settlement in Portugal and well worth a visit, 15k away. Coimbra the medieval capital of Portugal is a fantastic city to visit . Miranda do Corvo, the 'capital of chanfana', is within easy reach has plenty of restaurants, cafes, gift shops, and a weekly market. Nearby Penela is a charming old town with cobbled streets, a castle and a 4 star spa hotel.

The house is rural but not isolated, the addition of a turret containing the stair way creating a charming unusual feature. The walled garden with solid gate makes the property safe, enabling security if young children are in the party. West-facing terrace allows enjoyment of the spectacular views and watching the sun set below the horizon. The village setting gives the feeling of being part of rural life...bread sold daily from a van, villagers working in the fields, elderly gents stopping for a chat, all form the rich tapestry of life in the mountain.
