About the property

Chateau Cottage is Situated in a Quiet Location and Yet Close to Many Facilities

Built in 1867, within the grounds of a country house, Chateau Cottage is a delightful stone built detached holiday cottage, with its own half an acre enclosed garden.

The cottage sleeps up to 4 guests - one bedroom has a double bed, with the second bedroom having two single beds. The downstairs has a tiled floor and is open plan, with settees, coffee table, satellite TV, as well as a well equipped modern kitchen/dining area. The luxury shower room is also downstairs.

The half acre South facing garden contains table and chairs, benches, loungers. It also has a paved patio area equipped with a table, chairs and BBQ.

It is ideally situated as a base for all outdoor pursuits or alternatively a place where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It is a 10 minute walk from the village of Glangrwyney which has a public house and restaurant. The historic town of Crickhowell, with its many restaurants and shops, specialising in local produce is approximately one mile away and can also be reached from the cottage by a

footpath alongside the River Usk.

There are many walks within the immediate vicinity (Table Top and Sugar Loaf mountains etc) which can be enjoyed directly from the cottage front door. Nearby facilities include horse riding, fishing, golf, tennis, mountain biking and boating on the Brecon and Monmouth Canal and Langorse Lake.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We found the cottage to be lacking for nothing. All the personal small touches all served to enhance our stay. Despite walking and exploring in the cold, damp, January weather, returning to the warm, cosy comforts of this cottage have made a perfect weekend. Definitely one we would love to repeat. Access to the property feels very grand but surprisingly safe. Sincere gratitude to our hosts for permitting us this special and memorable experience.
