Cosy Well Equipped Cottage With Large Garden and Beautiful Mountain Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 01-Dec-2016
Chateau Cottage is Situated in a Quiet Location and Yet Close to Many Facilities

Built in 1867, within the grounds of a country house, Chateau Cottage is a delightful stone built detached holiday cottage, with its own half an acre enclosed garden.

The cottage sleeps up to 4 guests - one bedroom has a double bed, with the second bedroom having two single beds. The downstairs has a tiled floor and is open plan, with settees, coffee table, satellite TV, as well as a well equipped modern kitchen/dining area. The luxury shower room is also downstairs.

The half acre South facing garden contains table and chairs, benches, loungers. It also has a paved patio area equipped with a table, chairs and BBQ.

It is ideally situated as a base for all outdoor pursuits or alternatively a place where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It is a 10 minute walk from the village of Glangrwyney which has a public house and restaurant. The historic town of Crickhowell, with its many restaurants and shops, specialising in local produce is approximately one mile away and can also be reached from the cottage by a

footpath alongside the River Usk.

There are many walks within the immediate vicinity (Table Top and Sugar Loaf mountains etc) which can be enjoyed directly from the cottage front door. Nearby facilities include horse riding, fishing, golf, tennis, mountain biking and boating on the Brecon and Monmouth Canal and Langorse Lake.

Thank you for a lovely stay and the great advice. We went for a walk up Table Mountain and to The Bear for dinner! We hope to return soon for more walks and to go to "Big Pit".

Chateau Cottage is approximately 1 mile from the beautiful Georgian Town of Crickhowell, with its many shops and restaurants selling local produce.

In March Crickhowell hosts a now famous walking festival which has expanded to 80 guided walks at different levels which means there is something to suit all walkers.

During the 3rd week of August the Green Man Festival - an independent music and arts festival - is held annually at the Glan Usk Estate - a 5 minute drive away.

Abergavenny hosts a Food Festival in late September where the streets are packed with many stalls offering a variety of different foods.

Big Pit National Coal Museum, a world heritage site, is a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The latest attraction is Blaenavon Ironworks which is half a mile from Big Pit.

If you want a change from walking or mountain biking, you can hire a boat for half a day or a day on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal, or go sailing on Llangorse Lake.
