Siop y Rhos Farmhouse provides very comfortable accommodation, being newly renovated with a very large bespoke dining kitchen, and private secluded rear garden enjoying the sun all day long. The property has been recently renovated to a very high standard, and is ideal for larger families, or groups of adults who are looking for an excellent base to explore Anglesey and the nearby Snowdonia National Park.

Set in grounds of over 2.5 acres, the property can be let as one large unit which sleeps up to 15, or it can be annexed off for smaller groups/families by locking an interconnecting door providing smaller, yet larger than average accommodation for up to 7 persons - (see property ref: 6492137).

Sitting in over 2.5 acres of grounds, Siop y Rhos enjoys serene and peaceful surroundings overlooking Lligwy Beach. It sleeps up to 13 persons in beds, plus 2 further little ones in a cot (max age 2.5 yrs), and/or a travel cot (max age 18 mnths). Guests are guaranteed an excellent night's sleep with the odd sound of waves falling on the shore, or the occasional hoot of an owl, and because of the lack of light pollution access to the stars at night are a star gazers delight.

A path from the drive of the house provides a lovely scenic short walk to Lligwy Beach, and a second path from the rear of the property also allows for a short walk to the Pilot Boat Pub which caters for families, walkers, etc., and serves draught beer in a lovely location overlooking Dulas Estuary.

In brief the accommodation comprises:

> 3 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: Bedroom 1 has twin beds with an en-suite, Bedroom 2 has a double bed with room for a cot/travel cot with access through to Bedroom 3 which has a double bed and single bunk over. The bathroom for Bedrooms 2 & 3 is shared and accessed through Bedroom 3.

> 3 first floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: Bedroom 4 has a double bed with en-suite plus a cot; Bedroom 5 has a double bed, and Bedroom 6 has bunk beds - Bedrooms 5 and 6 share the same bathroom.

> Large front lounge: with a log burner effect fire set in an inglenook fireplace, with large flatscreen TV, DVD player, WiFi access, etc., and 2 large sofas and comfortably seating over 10 people, with French Windows leading straight into the private rear garden.

> Rear lounge: with 2 leather sofas, flatscreen TV, HiFi, and patio doors leading into the rear garden. This room is ideal for those wanting peace and quiet from the main hub of the house.

> Large dining kitchen: extremely well equipped and with a bespoke banqueting style dining table and bespoke bench seating for up to 16 adults, high gloss white units, a 8 hob gas range cooker with 2 large ovens and a separate grill, microwave oven, large dishwasher, washing machine, 2 x fridges and a freezer.

> Large rear garden: which enjoys sun all day long with a patio area and seating for up to 16 adults, plus a large gas BBQ. The garden is completely private and not overlooked, and provides a safe and secure area for children, plus there is access to a further 1.5 acres to the side of the garden allowing for ball games and other activities.

> Ample parking: providing car parking spaces for up to 5 cars, plus the added availability for boat storage if required (speak to the owners prior to booking to ensure this facility is available for the dates you are looking for).

Please note that a small remaining part of the farmhouse is a private one bedroom home for the owners', and/or their family who occasionally stay at Siop y Rhos. This is not available to rent.

The owners, Catherine & Steven, extend you their invitation and warm welcome to Siop y Rhos, which is a superb base to explore the beautiful Isle of Anglesey (most places can be reached within 30 mins), and yet the Snowdonia National Park is only 16 miles away. Siop y Rhos is a friendly, warm & inviting home set in spacious grounds in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Lligwy Beach, arguably one of the best beaches here on Anglesey, can be reached down a footpath from the front garden of Siop y Rhos, and the Pilot Boat Pub with beer gardens and a children's fun bus is a short walk from the back garden of the house. There are several pubs, restaurants, amazing eat in or take out chip shop, cafes, etc., in Moelfre, Benllech and Amlwch. Also within walking distance is Llyn Blodyn Fishery which is open all year round; the Anglesey Coastal Path passes nearby the house, and the beautiful Traeth Ora and Dulas Estuary are a walk away, with Traeth Bychan and Benllech Bay being a short car ride away.

There are local Spars, Co-Ops, a small Tesco, Asda, etc., all a short drive away - or you could get your food delivered before you arrive.

Visit the coastal town of Beaumaris with its historic Edward I castle (a World Heritage Site), Court House and Gaol, or take a cruise around Puffin Island and see the seals. A short walk from Siop y Rhos farmhouse is Din Lligwy, a 4th Century AD settlement; Hen Capel, a 12th Century Chapel; and Lligwy Cromlech, a Neolithic burial chamber. Visit Penrhyn Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Conwy Castle, Penmon Priory, and Plas Newydd Country House (National Trust), or simply choose one of the many circular walks along Anglesey's 125 miles of stunning coastline.

Traeth Lligwy is known for it's bass fishing, Moelfre for it's Mackerel, with Amlwch being a fishing favourite, or spend the day golfing, £89 will allow you to play all of Anglesey's premier courses.

We are a 3 generation family, right from Gramps down to baby Amelia, and we had no idea what we would be in for when we booked to stay at Siop y Rhos because there were no reviews of the property for us to read.

The house itself is huge, with lots and lots of rooms to get lost in. One of the major factors in us booking (besides being close to the beach and loads of outside parking) was the ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms - nobody had to queue for the loo, or the shower, and the bathrooms were virtually ensuite.

But the dining kitchen was the 'piece de resitance' - it was huge and arranged in such a way that everyone was part of the conversation and could see each no matter who was sat down, or cooking, or peeling veggies, or loading the dishwasher - it was absolutely stunning and a credit to the owners, Catherine & Steven. It was not just fully equipped but comprehensively equipped to the point that it was more equipped than our kitchen at home. The 2 fridges worked so well, particularly as there was so many of us requiring vast amounts of food - although my darling husband did manage to consume a greater portion that what was required.

The back garden was fantastic for the children. It was completely enclosed and was really big - and we there was another field next to the garden for us to use as well. The owners had just finished building a banquet style garden set and benches outside which was more than big enough for at least 14 of us to sit around, and although there was a large gas BBQ too, the weather wasn't quite kind enough for us to use it. But we did make use of all the board games in the evenings and were really thrilled that the owners had provided so many.

In essence, we thoroughly loved staying at Siop y Rhos, and although the owners lived on site we never saw them and forgot they were there at all. We had a wonderful time, and more than just my eyes watered when it came to saying goodbye. But, we have already booked for next summer and can't wait to go back to our new found home from home.

Lovely stay kitchen perfect space for family time lovely walk to beach

The house was very nice had a great time .Didn't realize that towels weren't included but this was soon sorted .Had mix age range and was perfect for our stay .One thing was with being celebration champagne glasses would be nice .other than that perfect Steve was very helpful and pleasant

We can only offer our apologies that the lack of champagne glasses detracted from your stay. We do try to cater for the majority of guests, and although we do provide 3 full sets of different types of drinking glasses, it can be difficult to get it right every time. Although it is made clear that towels are not included in the write up of the property, we can understand how the confusion happened on this occasion as some people in your family were having their stay at Siop y Rhos as a complete surprise. Luckily, although 13 people stayed with us, only 3 towel bales were needed, and we could have provided more had these been needed. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank you for bringing to our attention the spillage on the lounge carpet. We genuinely appreciate they way in which you quickly brought this to our attention, as this gave us the opportunity to deal with the spillage straight away, thus preventing any stains that may have resulted. We wish that all guests were as willing to speak up as you were, as it makes our jobs much harder when they don't, and we cannot thank you enough for swift actions. We would like to give our feedback to you as our guests, and we were happy to meet you all and would happily welcome you back to stay at Siop y Rhos.

A wonderful break

The property was excellent, spacious, clean and well appointed and in a lovely position. Everyone enjoyed their stay and I wouldn't hesitate to come again and recommend it to others.

Excellent accommodation and location

We stayed for one week at the end of April and the accommodation was great for us - 2 families with small children occupied the two suites and the grandparents had the double. Lots of space outside for the children to play and for BBQs. Delightful path down to the beach and sea.

Only criticism is the lack of daylight in the kitchen - it could do with a window for views and light.

The owners were very helpful and pleasant.

Superb holiday house

We had a fabulous holiday. Steven and Catherine we so welcoming. Our grandson has a very serious phobia about dogs and they were absolutely wonderful with him, we could not thank them enough. They were so concerned for him and won his confidence. Their little dogs were lovely. By the end of his holiday he was feeding treats to the dogs, which was amazing.

The house was very clean and met our families needs.

It is an ideal base for travelling around Anglesey. We had a wide range of ages and it catered for everybody.

I would highly recommend this accommodation.
