average rating of 4.4375 based on 16 reviews

11 of us and 2 dogs spent 3 nights and found the accommodation suited our needs perfectly.

  • 5 of 5

We all had a wonderful time, the weekend was perfect in every way, even the weather was great, it was just what we were looking for and fitted our needs exactly.. Charlotte made us feel very welcome and was always available if we needed anything.

We all loved the big country kitchen and all sat round the large table chatting and drinking!. The location was idyllic, quiet and beautiful country side. We would definitely recommend to friends and family or anyone looking for a large house in quiet countryside but not too far away from local towns and amenities. Thank you will probably see you again.

A comfortable house good for a large family gathering

  • 4 of 5

The house was good for our large family gathering for an important party. It would be good if some written instructions could be provided for key items such as the heating. This was quite idiosyncratic and we had to seek help twice which could have been avoided with written instructions. Could do with an overhaul but a house with character.

House with a lot of charm

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house had a lovely break with family, plenty of room, would recommend. Was advised to go to the kings head for a meal which was amazing. The games room is outside in a outbuilding so very cold and dark in winter. The hot tub is a lazy spa which you can buy from shops for your garden and looked like it had seen better days, I did wonder why there wasn't a picture of the hot tub on the advert. The house has everything you need for a weekend away lovely log fires which we made the most out of as it was a cold November weekend. Lots to see and do in towns nearby I.e chirk castle. We did not meet the owners on arrival the house was open with a lovely welcome basket of fruit etc which was a nice touch. You can tell there is a lot of history with the house which ads to its charm.

  • 4 of 5

We found the property to be everything we thought it was going to be,it could do with a little TLC but then given it's age couldn't we all!!,the owners were very quick to sort out a couple of minor glitches we had and couldn't be more pleasant and helpful

Ideal for a family get together

  • 5 of 5

10 of us had a lovely stay at this spacious house. We cooked a few meals in and we found everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen, where we spent a lot of our time.

We visited Powys castle, which is near by and the whole family enjoyed it.

The games room was a great addition, although it could benefit from a light fitting and a bit of a spruce up but we wouldn’t have liked to have been without it.

We had a boiler problem during our stay but Charlotte was there quickly to help and it was soon warm again with the use of the lovely log burners.

I’d happily recommend this house. We thought it was great value for money and was ideal for our family weekend.

lovely old house, loads of charm & character

  • 4 of 5

Met with the lovely charlotte on arrival, there were 12 friends celebrating hubbie's birthday. Big kitchen for all of us to muck in for breakfast, made the dining room work for 12 to enjoy birthday bash. Large bedrooms with comfy beds apart from the twin beds on the first floor, maybe ok for kids, not so good for adults, very steep steps to second floor bedroom. We all had 2 very good meals at the Kings Head, 3 miles down the road, recommended. All in all an excellent 4 days, thanks Charlotte.
