3 ensuite bedrooms + 2 childrens' rooms with private pool and big games room

The Farmhouse is a delightfully spacious and beautifully equipped house in a peaceful location. It combines the charm of an old-fashioned farmhouse with all mod cons including Wifi. It is set in a large garden with private pool, swings, bbq, sandpit, and table tennis. The house has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms; a living/kitchen area with fireplace and piano; and a huge games room with TV (Freeview) pool table and football table.

3 ensuite double bedrooms. Two further bedrooms each with bunk beds and a 4' single bed. Family bathroom. Separate downstairs toilet.

The kitchen is very well equipped.

2 kilometres away is the village with butcher, baker, cafe, tabac and Sunday Market.

Ferry port of Saint Malo is only 2 and a half hours' drive away. La Rochelle Airport only 35 minutes.

About Dilys

We are a British couple who love France. We've owned a holiday home in the Languedoc for 8 years but decided recently that we'd like to get to know another area, so we've moved north to the lovely Charente region. This means our house is more easily accessible from the UK - we enjoy driving down (owadays often from Saint Malo or the Tunnel) but are also able to fly to La Rochelle or take the Eurostar to Paris and then train to Niort. All of this means we can use and enjoy the house more often.

Why Dilys chose Deux-Sevres

We fell in love with this house on our first visit. It seemed to offer everything we wanted......plenty of space for our growing family to come and stay and plenty of things for them to do once here. A big garden for our grandsons to kick a football around or practise their cricket. A pool and barbecue to enjoy in summer, a games room for rainy days. We are having a lot of fun getting to know the area, visiting the delightful villages, taking boats, going to the beach and trying restaurants. We like both La Rochelle and Niort. The area provides plenty of opportunities for visting typical French markets and stocking up on fresh produce. And it has its own micro-climate meaning the sun often shines!

What makes this farmhouse unique

This house is ideal for large family gatherings. It's been rented out to families coming to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. But it's also suitable for groups of friends with small children as it can easily sleep 6 adults and 6 children. And we have facilities for babies and toddlers such as a high chair, cots and stair gates.

Perfect family holiday

We stayed for a week in July - four adults and three small people. Lovely farmhouse - generous sized kitchen that was very well equipped and opened on to the covered terrace. Off the kitchen was a seating area and then a utility room and a large double. Upstairs there were two further doubles and two family rooms - lots of bathrooms and toilets so a great space for lots of people. The games room upstairs was used a lot - space for the kids to play as well as table football and pool table.

We spent a lot of time outside - lots of seating areas in the shade and sun, a great garden and a pool fenced off. The whole garden is fenced off so safe to let the kids play.

Lots to do nearby - La Rochelle and Il de Re both under an hours drive away. Lots of walks / runs and cycle rides nearby. Highly recommend for a great family holiday.

Two weeks relaxed pottering in The Marais

The farmhouse was very comfortable, clean and well-maintained, with a well-equipped kitchen and lots of outside space in which to relax after our morning cycle rides. the pool was a particular favourite on sunny afternoons and received full marks from the ladies in our party.

There are lots of quiet cycle routes right on the doorstep with abundant wildlife to observe and plenty of quiet villages in which to enjoy a morning coffee or two


The garden and pool were regularly maintained whilst we were in residence and the property was immediately available as promised on our arrival.There is also easy access to supermarkets and if required local pharmacies.

All in all a very attractive and relaxing holiday venue which fully lived up to our expectations and which we would recommend.

Peferfect family holiday

We were a party of 4 adult couples staying for a week at La Nevoire in the French countryside but within easy driving distance of La Rochelle. The property was well situated, close to the local boulangerie and close enough to the local supermarkets, had plenty of room and was brilliantly kitted out. Directions were clear and checking in and checking out couldn't have been easier.
