Charming 1 bed Apartment in the heart of Beer and just a stroll from the beach

This delightful self-catering property is perfectly positioned on the 2nd floor of a 19th Century period stone building - opposite a convenient grocery store and just a short 3-4 minute stroll from the beach

The stairs are easily manageable and lead to an attractive lounge offering all the usual luxuries which give you real home-from-home comfort, together with lovely views over the surrounding area - Wi-fi is also available

The fully equipped kitchen includes hob/cooker, washing machine, dish-washer and microwave, together with dining facilities for up to four people.

Offering a luxurious retreat, Durham House Apartment provides the perfect environment for two people with a light and airy bedroom, new king size bed with furnishings to complement. The tiled bathrooms has a bath with shower over, hand basin, toilet and heated towel rail

All bed linen, towels and utilities are included in the tariff - you won't suddenly find extra costs payable at the end of your stay. Our friendly housekeeper also lives locally and is on hand if you have any questions or need help with anything

Parking is close by at the rear of the Dophin Hotel, where a daily or weekly permit can be purchased (more details can be provided)

We discovered this great Apartment whilst on holiday one year and set about transforming it to a comfortable and relaxing home environment. Since buying the property we come back and visit as often as possible - mainly out of season in Spring and Autumn when we enjoy long walks to Branscombe and taking in the fresh sea air

Simply Perfect

We booked Durham House for our 'mini-moon', as a short break after our wedding. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and is in a perfect location to enjoy all that Beer and the surrounding area has to offer.

Booking was very straightforward and Sue, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with from the start and made us feel very welcome.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave to come home!!

It was a perfect fit for my husband and I.

The apartment was very close to the beach and was within walking distance to some great pubs and restaurants. We really enjoyed our week in the village of Beer. The countryside was spectacular and we could see ourselves returning!

A lovely apartment well situated in the village.

This was our second stay in this apartment and again it gave us everything we needed. It is well situated in the village within easy walking distance to all amenities.

The apartment is comfortable and we fel it is a home from home.

Beer is a lovely place to stay. It has a number of restaurants which we use and all offer a good meal out. The beach is a nice place to spend the day and there are lovely walks to Branscombe and other local areas.

We love visiting Beer and the surrounding area and would thoroughly recommend this apartment as a base.

Excellent as ever

The arrival of brilliant sunny days was the icing on the cake for this stay. Beer really has everything you could ask for and Sue's apartment is the tranquil home from home with a touch of luxury that completes the holiday. Sometimes you just don't need to drive to every known attraction, it's fine to just chill in Beer...with a beer !

This apartment was perfect for our little romantic trip to Beer. It met all our needs & fab location

Apartment was very comfortable, everything in excellent order and it was spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, right opposite the bus stop on the main road. Sue provided some really helpful information ahead of our trip and we were able to navigate from exeter seamlessly by bus. Lots of lovely walks to do from Beer and the bars and restaurants were well recommended too. Everything within just a few minutes walk including the beach. Would definately to back to Beer and definitely rebook this apartment again. Small tip to offer future visitors to Beer, the regular bus services between exeter and Beer don't run on a bank holiday, worth noting. Beer fishing village is the perfect base to explore the East Devon Jurassic Coast. You'll find an unspoilt and traditional seaside environment devoid of 'Kiss me Quick' hats, but full of friendly people, fabulous pubs and restaurants. It also boasts two stylish art galleries, tea shops and quaint seaside cottages and thatched houses

There is an excellent coastal bus service which you can pick up just opposite the Apartment . This takes the coastal route to the historic cathedral City of Exeter in one direction and delightful Lyme Regis in Dorset, in the other. The glorious Cobb Harbour is worth a visit and has had a starring role in such films as Persuasion and The French Lieutentnat's Woman

For local services, shopping and sightseeing, both Seaton town and Victorian Sidmouth are just a 10 min drive away

Beer also boasts the fantastic Quarry Caves and Pecorama, a model railway treasure trove, with beautiful gardens and model railways for children and adults alike

Bicton Garden is a delightful botanical garden about a 15 minute drive away, close to the pretty neighbouring village of Budleigh Salterton
