About the property

Open plan kitchen,dining living, double and 2 single bedded room with ensuites

Willow farm cottage is situated down a quiet lane in the hamlet of Lower Ufford and overlooking water meadows. There are 2 great pubs within walking distance and extensive gardens and plentiful wild life.

The cottage was newly refurbished in 2016 with 2 ensuite bedrooms, and on the ground floor an open plan, high ceilinged living space. This comprises of kitchen/dining and living room with overall dimensions 30ft by 16ft. This area opens onto south facing decking and extensive gardens which we encourage you to enjoy. Whether for a bbq and sunbathing, children running around, or enjoying the barn owl and wildlife, the garden is a delight.

Lower Ufford is within easy reach of the Heritage Coast which comprises Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Orford, Snape, Dunwich and Southwold.

Woodbridge is 3 miles away, a small market town with bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and individual outlets situated on the banks of the river Deben.

Hosts, Andrew and Ann, have been involved in the letting business for more than 10 years and are only too happy to help and advise you on anything which could enhance your holiday. At the same time we respect your privacy.

About Andrew and Ann Gilmour

Andrew and Ann bought and refurbished Willow Farm and its outbuildings 30 years ago. It has been an ongoing labour of love for us. The cottage shares 4 acres of grounds and was completely refurbished in 2015.

We like to see our guests enjoy Willow Farm, the village and surrounding area. We respect your privacy but can provide you with any information you may need to enhance your stay

Why Andrew and Ann Gilmour chose Suffolk

Our guests love the outlook from the cottage over the water meadows and the south and west facing aspects. With the ability to walk to 2 local pubs for a drink or great food and enjoy the picturesque and quiet location.

Woodbridge is a short drive away for restaurants, cinema and riverside walks. For the more adventurous it is a lovely walk to Woodbridge along the river and a short taxi ride back after supper!

Less than 20 minutes away is the famed Heritage coast where most visitors enjoy Orford, Snape, Aldeburgh, Thorpe Ness, Dunwich, Southwold and Framlingham.

What makes this barn unique

The cottage is nestled in the extensive gardens of Willow farm. Our guests appreciate the spacious cottage and the balance between an old barn and a contemporary finish. They comment on the efforts we have made to cater for their every need.

Walking around the area of the village is a joy and there are 2 great pubs serving food a short walk away.

We have just returned from a lovely few days break. The Barn was fantastic, it had everything you could possibly want from a holiday property.

We have stayed in many cottages this barn was one of the best.

We hope to return again, summer would be an ideal time to spend sitting out in the large grounds admiring the different aspects.

We would definitely recommend this property.

Four of us arrived back today, having celebrated three of our 60th birthdays, and we couldn't have chosen a better place - Willow Farm Cottage was just gorgeous, fully fitted out and set in the most lovely grounds.

Andrew couldn't have been more helpful, and we all had a great time. I agree with one of the much earlier reviews about wanting to keep the cottage a secret!

Beautiful location, charming cottage

We loved our recent stay here - my boys (6 and 4) noted that they "preferred our holiday home to our actual home" - what's not to love for them - a gorgeous garden to play in, lots of privacy, a resident owl to watch, their own beautiful twin room and ensuite bathroom. For the grown ups - a gorgeous double room, a beautiful ensuite (NB a little tricky if like my husband you are ridiculously tall but great for 99.9% of people!) lots of privacy, very helpful and accommodating owners (we have had some horrific experiences with 3rd party lettings companies) for whom nothing was too much trouble. The Gilmours (owners) are clearly (and rightly) proud and passionate about Willow Farm Cottage. In terms of the location - we found this perfect and in a week barely scratched the surface in terms of what is on offer. The local town (Woodbridge) is lovely, There are brilliant pubs in walking and short driving distance, the shopping and art at Snape Maltings is great and the seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh (both beautifully unspoilt) are well within driving distance even with 2 young kids. We joined HHA and English Heritage and there was loads we could visit in the area. Will we return - absolutely! Just wishing for better weather next time.....

Excellent - modern, clean, clear instructions to find our way around.

Three of us spent three nights here and were delighted with the standard of cleanliness and the location. The only down side was discovering previous occupants had not done as asked and dealt with their waste disposal. We did though!

We had a fantastic short break, staying for 3 nights over the Easter Weekend. The accomodation is 5* Star with 2 good sized bedrooms, both ensuite and plenty of great open-plan living space. The location couldn't be better being very private and quiet, yet close enough to visit all the local attractions. The barn is set within a large and immaculately tended garden and great for families! The owner, Andrew, is extremely warm and welcoming and always happy to help. We were 2 x couples both with small babies.
