The village is full of history. It is visually a very beautiful village nestling in the natural harbour made by the Cowbar and the Staithes Beck. Quaint and traditional with fantastic harbour views

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was clean and well equipped. There are sea views from the majority of the rooms.

The sea views from the second sitting room are nothing short of breathtaking. It was lovely to sit and watch the waves crashing over the harbour breakwater during a particularly stormy day.

We will return again next year to this little hidden treasure.

great cottage with fabulous views

  • 4 of 5

A thoroughly enjoyable trip. We adored the cottage and all its beautiful paintings. The storage heaters and little radiator fires were more than adequate for a stormy feb half term; and the kitchen is a good size and well equipped. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Fantastic view from the snug

  • 3 of 5

A cold start to our stay (the storage heaters had been switched off) however, we had it warm by the following day.

Well equipped kitchen, lovely new cooker, comfortable furniture including the beds.

The place was very clean with the exception of the tiled kitchen floor which was filthy.

The view of the harbour from the snug was exceptional and the activity of the life boat crews kept us entertained all week. Incredibly cheap shell fish from the incoming boats was a bonus.

On the downside the cottage would have struggled to sleep six as storage space was minimal with only one wardrobe and one bathroom. The whole place would benefit from updating and maintained better as plaster in several places was falling off due to dampness. The towels need replacing, they were exceptionally thin.

Would we return if the above faults were corrected when the property would be commensurate with the prices charged.

Cottage with wonderful views of harbour

  • 5 of 5

Had a lovely week in Garth End Cottage in the quiet village of Staithes. Woke up every morning looking over the harbour then sat in bay window, drinking tea, looking out to sea..perfect...already looking forward to our next stay.
