Fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

The house and attached apartment are in a spectacular position overlooking Loch Katrine. We were lucky with the weather in May and could sit out all afternoon and even swim! The house is very well appointed. Highlights: big lounge, extending dining table, wonderful views, good mix of double/twin bedrooms. Would love to visit again!

Stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We booked Lochside House for a long weekend for our family of 10 and were not disappointed. From the minute we booked the correspondence was all straightforward and we found the house to be ideal for our group size and weekend activities. All the room sizes were great and meant we weren't tripping over each other. The common areas were ideal, including a large kitchen with ample fridge, freezer and worktop space. The House had wifi, tv and DVD, not that you really needed them with the stunning location around you. There are plenty of bathrooms which meant a big group getting ready in the morning was never an issue. One of our favourite things was the size of the kitchen and breakfast bar. We visited the pier cafe, great service, and also took a trip on the steamer which was great to have on the doorstep. We also used the surrounding areas to go for walks.

You can't beat the views you wake up to each morning.

One tiny piece of less positive feedback would be for more cereal bowls, a couple of the shower heads leaked and some of the lampshades could do with a little tlc.

Thank you for letting us stay, we would love to come back again!

Breathtaking location - well equipped & spacious accommodation that was perfect for our large family

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our adult family group celebrating a milestone birthday - mums 80th. We stayed for a long weekend towards the end of March & we’re blessed with crisp sunshiny days. We had intended to take the steam ship trip from the nearby pier but instead hired Canadian canoes (even Mum canoed!) which made the whole experience magical. The pier cafe served a lovely breakfast & we also visited the Wee Blether tea rooms & were not disappointed. There was a small but interesting flea market at the Pier on the Sunday morning. The place is quite remote but has a lot happening on its doorstep & is a perfect base for exploring trials & nearby natural attractions. Note: There is a swimming ladder in the Loch but any thoughts of this in March would need a wet suit & not for the faint hearted - two of our group managed a quick dip only. There are a number of holiday let’s in the Lodge but ours was very private & it did not detract from the experience. We will be back 😊

Beautiful location with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 9 staying at Lochside House, every room within was very spacious and at no point were we tripping over each other. The rooms are 2 doubles (with en suites) and 3 twins, most of the beds are a bit low which can make getting in and out rather difficult for some but on the whole it was a fantastic place to stay. The log burning fire was such a lovely feature and made the place so cosy whilst it snowed outside. There is a charge for WiFi but we could not connect to it so it made for a great sociable weekend! The kitchen was fully equipped with more utensils and crockery than ikea, there was also 2 fridges, 2 freezers and 2 microwaves along with a big range cooker. The only criticism I have is the curtains could have closed better as some of us were all up as soon as daylight appeared.

We visited the Pier Cafe which is literally 2 minutes from the house. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay so much we tried to book the house again for a weekend in June but it’s already booked 🙁?.

Thank you Richard, we loved our stay!

Fantastic house on edge of Loch Katrine

  • 5 of 5

We visited for a family birthday, 8 of us. Perfect location on the edge of Loch Katrine, so beautiful. Stock up in Aberfoyle as no shops after that. Added bonus of the Loch Pier Cafe, which is next door and serves the best cappuccino and cakes in the U.K.!! All their cooking is excellent and staff are very helpful about the surrounding area too. Lochside House has everything you need for a big gathering, so much kitchen equipment, lots of water and heating works well too! Even the logs are pre cut for you! We also went fishing with Stuart from Loch Katrine Fisheries who comes highly recommended too and we all had such an informative day Pike fishing. The owner of Lochside House was very helpful in the lead up to our visit with our endless enquiries and nothing was too much trouble. A fabulous house and location. Highly recommended.

Stunning location

  • 4 of 5

We were a large party and stayed in the right half of the house and top apartment and can't overstate the amazing position - right on the waters edge with stunning views from every window. Our only problem with the house was that the weather was unpredictable (no surprise there) so we got wet a lot and found it difficult to dry clothes in the house - no tumble dryer or drying room, so had to resort to putting on the heating and hang everything on the radiators - not ideal. But that's the only issue we had, so not so bad! Local cafe on the pier (100 metres away) was exceptional too with very friendly staff and a good menu, we had some good breakfasts and some great evening meals looking over the Loch. We took an inflatable canoe with us and had some wonderful trips out on the Loch, so if you've got boats it's a fantastic spot. We had two weeks and it wasn't enough to explore this beautiful area - so many things we still wanted to do, so we'll be going back!
