LOCHSIDE HOUSE is a large victorian 5 bedroom holiday house / lodge/ cottage situated in the spectacular location of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This spacious east wing of large detached house has been renovated to a high standard throughout and makes a wonderful venue for a holiday cottage. Located within 10 yards of Loch Katrine and offering breathtaking views of the loch and surrounding hills of Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi and Ben Venue, Lochside House sits in an isolated corner of Loch Katrine at Stronachlachar in Loch Lomond and Trossachs Park, just 150 yards from the pier where the SS Sir Walter Scott steamer sails the loch and arrives daily during peak season. This makes an ideal holiday cottage location from which to absorb one of Scotland’s most picturesque loch side areas.

What makes this house unique

We are based in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs Park at Stronachlachar on the edge of Loch Katrine with some spectacular scenery around us.

We have some unique properties just 10/15 yards from the waters edge of Loch Katrine and offer a superb location for large or small family gatherings via a range of property sizes.

5 bedroom Lochside House

3 bedroom Lochside Apartment.

8 bedroom available by combining Lochside House and Lochside Apartment.

All properties have oak wood flooring and great loch views. Most have a log burning stoves for that homely feel and they all have gas central heating to actually keep you warm.

The Inversnaid Bunkhouse, 4 miles away, is an excellent place to kick your feet up and have a beer after hiking. It is also a hostel used by walkers.

Aberfoyle, 11 miles away, is the nearest town that has a Co-op supermarket, Tourist Information, Restaurants etc.

Callander is a bigger town at 22 miles away.

We find the big supermarkets (Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's) deliver to our properties on a regular basis.

Forest Hills Hotel at Kinlochard, 4 miles away, has a Restaurant and Leisure facilities on offer.

Stunning location

We were a large party and stayed in the right half of the house and top apartment and can't overstate the amazing position - right on the waters edge with stunning views from every window. Our only problem with the house was that the weather was unpredictable (no surprise there) so we got wet a lot and found it difficult to dry clothes in the house - no tumble dryer or drying room, so had to resort to putting on the heating and hang everything on the radiators - not ideal. But that's the only issue we had, so not so bad! Local cafe on the pier (100 metres away) was exceptional too with very friendly staff and a good menu, we had some good breakfasts and some great evening meals looking over the Loch. We took an inflatable canoe with us and had some wonderful trips out on the Loch, so if you've got boats it's a fantastic spot. We had two weeks and it wasn't enough to explore this beautiful area - so many things we still wanted to do, so we'll be going back!
