Overview

About the property

2 bedroom fully equipped cottage with woodstove & garden

Dorridge Farm is located at the end of a track in a perfect New Forest location with amazing views towards Hampton Ridge. The cottage is situated next to the farmhouse and boasts a cosy and comfortable interior comprising a kitchen diner, sitting room with woodstove, downstairs toilet and bootroom, 2 upstairs bedrooms (-one Kingsize and 1 twin) and one family bathroom. Outside there is a small garden with picnic table and parasol, small BBQ and well fenced for children/dogs. WiFi Internet access is available but it is limited due to the rural location (emails only, browsing/streaming = limited/unworkable). 3G is available on some mobile networks, however. The wider property is home to some horses and the cottage sits in between the farmhouse and a working stable yard. The location is ideal for walkers and cyclists as well as riders as there is a public equestrian centre at the bottom of the track. Families would find the location appealing as the location is secure and safe, away from traffic and family pets are considered/permitted with additional cleaning charges applicable. There are many country pubs nearby and a farm shop/cafe and a village shop/cafe. The towns of Fordingbridge and Ringwood are close by with Salisbury, Bournemouth, Southampton and Winchester also proximal. There are many tourist attractions in nearby Dorset and Wiltshire as well as Hampshire.

Lovely weekend in the New Forest

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I stayed at Dorridge Farm in March 2016. Would recommend the cottage to to anyone looking for a peaceful break away. The cottage is located in a rural area - perfect for quiet nights, long country walks and star gazing. Lots of lovely walks possible from the front door and 3 pubs accessible on foot. Equestrian centre at the bottom of the drive is great fun and cycle hire available nearby also. The cottage was perfect and complete with all the amenities you could require, the log burning stove is a real treat! The owners could not have been more hospitable, providing all the information we require and making themselves available for queries throughout our stay (not that we had any). Would definitely stay at this cottage again.
