3 bedroom holiday villa, sleeping 7 people in two double bedrooms and one triple (bunk beds plus single). There are two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite. English TV, PlayStation 3, DVDs, boardgames, kids toys and books available. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and tumble dryer, central heating for the winter months. Outdoors the villa has a private pool with loungers, gazebo and barbecue area. The large terrace offers amazing views over orange groves to the neighbouring villages and surrounding mountain ranges. There is parking for two cars and the villa is secure with gated access.

Overlooked by a Moorish ruined castle and nestled into the wooded hillsides among the orange groves this is a peaceful retreat. Shops, banks and restaurants are a 5 minute drive or 15/ 20 minute walk away in the small town of Villalonga which also has a twice weekly market. Blue flag beaches are a 20 minute drive away as well as the historic town of Gandia, with museums, historical buildings and a large market.

The area is great for hikers, cyclists, sun seekers or those looking for a peaceful base to explore the Valencia and Alicante regions. Perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all!

We are a family of six living in the UK. We love going on holiday, and a few years ago decided to buy a property abroad so that we could enjoy more time getting away from it all.

Why Michael James chose Valencia Province

We decided on a property close to Gandia because it gives us easy access from either Alicante or Valencia airports but is still relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists.

The nearby beaches are beautiful and the local village feels very Spanish and welcoming. There is plenty of opportunity for sightseeing nearby.

What makes this villa unique

We saw dozens of villas when house hunting for our place in the sun. We wanted a detached house with pool in a peaceful setting, and the moment we saw Villa Azahar we knew we'd found the perfect place for our family. It had all we were looking for, and more! The views from the terrace are stunning, during the day you can admire the orange groves across the valley, at night you see the shimmering lights of the neighbouring villages in the distance. We have enjoyed many happy family holidays here, and are certain you will like it, too!

Villalonga is a bustling Spanish village, a 15 minute walk from the villa. The local supermarket stocks all the basics and some more, and the village has several bakeries, butchers, veg shops, snack bars, a pharmacy and a hotel with restaurant. There is also a great value market held twice weekly (Tuesday and Friday). The old town is picturesque, and the views from the hill top chapel across the village are lovely. Villalonga offers great hiking trails, and the mountain backdrop is stunning.

We loved the villa so peaceful and had every facility for a family . Thank you for sharing your fabulous home.To wake up every morning to a good day in amazing surroundings was just what we needed . The village was a real authentic Spanish village full of character with amazing restaurants. Joan and Gerorge next door were very helpful and really lovely neighbors. Will be back .

Wow!! Stunning views, great pool, beautifully finished internally and plenty of space outside.

We had a fabulous two weeks in the villa. Spent most of the time in and around the pool. Children chilled out watching the dvds and playing games on the PlayStation when it got too hot. We spent a pleasant afternoon wandering around the village and enjoyed a few beers in the local bars. We also visited gandia beach and had a nice meal. The beach there is beautiful but we preferred the beach of daimus with plenty of free parking and it's relaxed atmosphere. A lovely beach. We also travelled easily into Valencia by catching a train from xeraco which was easy to find and free parking. Cost about 7 euros into Valencia. The open top bus stops near the station and is a great way to explore the city. Would also recommend the aquarium which we also visited was awesome. We had a wonderful

Amazing views, perfect location

Simply wonderful! Very quiet area, ~5 min drive to the nearest supermarket, pharmacy and petrol station. Having George as a neighbour we were feeling safe as he was always there when we needed something. (thanks for your help!!). Villa is spacious and in good condition. Being in the swimming pool you'll be looking at the landscape of hills and mountains. Great holidays!

Lovely views, quiet location, north facing location means it's quite shady

Lovely quiet spot and views. The house was perfect for our needs. It's on a north facing hillside so when we were there (October) the sun didn't appear from behind the mountain until about 9.30 and went behind the hill again about 2.30. This is probably quite an advantage in the summer months but in autumn it meant no breakfasts or evenings outside (the weather was also a little cool the week we were there). The neighbours were friendly and helpful. The tumble drier was useful as it was very humid during our stay and it was difficult to dry the towels.

Lovely views pleasant stay

Lovely villa with very nice views of surrounding area not touristy at all , reasonably appointed, villa looked after by very pleasant neighbours Good sized pool well maintained . Close to nearby village with a couple of good restaurants walkable . Nice trekking up nearby hills and old ruins, good sturdy trainers required.

Fantastic

This was our second vist to the villa and it was still fantastic,home fron home. Clean and tidy lovely deep pool with plenty of sun loungers nice quiet location. Nice neighbours how look after the villa and are on hand should you need anything. We may be back for a third time.. Thanks mrs flack
