About the property

Croyde Barn, Croyde, North Devon, England - Located in the Centre of Croyde

Croyde Barn is probably one of the highest specification holiday homes in Croyde, Grade II listed from the outside, uber contemporary on the inside. Each of the four bedrooms is ensuite and has a flat screen TV. Sleeps 8 with an optional sofa bed for an extra 1. The master bedroom has a Roman style bath. The kitchen is also super high spec, with 3 ovens, gloss grey units, finished with orange Corian work surfaces. You can enjoy your food in the adjoining open plan vaulted dining room, the lounge or alfresco on the BBQ terrace. But you can consider all the kitchen/dining area as just cool aesthetics and not lift a finger to cook during your stay as Croyde has three pubs, a bistro, cafe and numerous other eateries all within walking distance. It's a great village right on the coast with an easy surf-style vibe. But whilst the house is right in the village, you'll still be able to enjoy peace and quiet in the back garden.

Notes on accommodation:

As a general rule, we don't take pets, but please contact us if you wish to discuss this. There is no smoking allowed inside the house.

Outside:

Outside the lounge is paved with slate flags leading round to a teak decked terrace with table and chairs and BBQ. Steps then lead to a lawned terrace. All perfect for al fresco dining morning, noon and night. Beyond the garden are open fields leading up to the hills around Croyde. There is parking for up to four cars.

Utility Room:

Washing machine, tumble drier, iron, ironing board. This room also stores the high chairs (2), travel cots (2), stair gates (2) as well as the vacuum cleaner and other cleaning equipment.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:

White linen is provided and all beds will be made up for your arrival. Each guest will be provided with a bath and hand towel. On two week holidays a mid-stay housekeeping service is offered with fresh bed linen.

Other:

Dining Room: open to the kitchen with slate floor and vaulted ceiling. This room also has a dining table/chairs, sofas and flat screen TV. The master bedroom is off a mezzanine over the kitchen/dining area.

Croyde has a great vibe both on the beach and in the village so I couldn't imagine a better place to have a holiday home. The barn has been totally renovated so that it retains its character on the outside, but has that contemporary edge on the inside.

Golf: The pair of championship courses is located in the Braunton Burrows of North Devon less than 1/2 mile from the Atlantic Ocean set in the towering dunes that form the back drop. Ilfracombe golf club about 8 miles away boasts one of the most spectacular locations in the UK for an exhilarating round of golf. Situated on the top of the rugged cliffs of the North Devon coast, every tee has an awe-inspiring view over the sea. There is also Willingcott Valley golf course nearby and a number of pitch and putt courses in Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.

A modern take on a holiday home.

This barn holiday home offers excellent accomodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had some minor issues.

One was ventilation is the downstairs bedroom. The door couldn't be left open to the outside for security reasons and the bathroom window had no lock on it so could be opened from outside if left ajar.

A lack of lighting for bedside reading.

Bathroom lighting was overly complicated and in some areas did not work.

The steps leading from the entry door were a little hazardous for those who have any mobilty problems. A hand rail of some sort would be an excellent improvement.

The T.V.s were all possitioned a little too high.

This sounds like a lot of commplaints but we really did enjoy our stay and this is a lovely holiday home. Thank you.

Lovely accommodation in a great location

We stayed for a long weekend in July. The property was easy to find, with adequate parking for 4 cars. The location is excellent - within a minute walk of Croyde's centre, with plenty of choice of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, and direct access down a lane to Croyde beach.

The property is mostly well maintained. The living accommodation is very spacious. The kitchen is very well equiped.

I have 2 suggestions for improvements:

1. The TVs in the lounge and dining room are placed very high on the walls. In the lounge especially it would be better to have the TV lower down on the opposite wall. It wasn't comfortable trying to watch Wimbledon with the TV up so high.

2. The downstairs bedroom needs to have a decent fan available. It was very warm when we stayed, which was great for our holiday, but it was quite uncomfortable at night. We couldn't leave the doors or bathroom window open at night for obvious security reasons, so it was a little bit like sleeping in a sauna! The mezzanine level bedroom could do with a fan too, as there isn't a window in the bedroom (just a velux in the bathroom).

All in all we had a fabulous weekend, and we would definitely consider staying at the barn again.

Amazing property!!

This property is gorgeous. I booked this for myself and a group of friends, and we were all speechless when we arrived and had a look round! We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. Location is fantastic only a couple of minutes walk to the small village of Croyde, 10 minute walk to the beach. We loved the garden and decked area, it gets loads of sun so was brilliant for sitting around chatting and having a drink. The kitchen was amazing, had everything you could possibly need. Beds were really comfortable and every room had its own en suite which was fantastic! I would 110% recommend this property and the owner Justin was brilliant to deal with, really helpful and really friendly. I will definitely be booking this again at some point in the future. This was hands down the best self catering property I have ever stayed in.

Fantastic stay at Croyde barn!!

We recently stayed at Croyde barn and are regular visitors to Croyde, this is the best house we have stayed in! The house was a very large size and had everything you would want/needed inside and out! It is also centrally located and within walking distance to everything! Would recommend to anyone and will be returning in the future ourselves!

Beautiful Croyde

Great location and we really enjoyed our stay. Bedroom above the kitchen was a little impractical as our guests staying there couldn't go to sleep before everyone else did as this room is open to the main part of the house. But other than that we would recommend as we love beautiful Croyde. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Superb accommodation, in a perfect location

The property was finished to a high standard, with many mod cons and excellent equipment and facilities, the property is in a perfect location, two minutes from the village centre and just a short walk to the beach.

We had a wonderful weekend with some glorious September sunshine.

Would love to stay here again.

Croyde beach is a 10 minute walk, or a 3 minute drive with car parks right next to the bay.

Putsborough beach is 2 miles away with a car park right next to the beach and a fabulous beach cafe.

Saunton beach is approx 2 miles or a stunning walk over Lobb Hill just behind us.

Woolacombe beach is 5 miles away, taking about 15-20 minutes to drive.

Travel:

Travel by car is recommended, although public transport is good.

Bus - regular bus service from to Barnstaple via Braunton

Nearest train station - is a 25 mins drive to Barnstaple

Nearest Mainline station - Tiverton (direct from/to London) 1hr drive.

Local airports - Exeter is 65 miles and a 1hr 30mins drive.

As you enter the village of Croyde continue to the centre with Brook Stores facing you, turn right here onto St Marys Road, we are approx 150 metres up here on the left.

Distances:

Croyde Bay Barn is situated in the heart of Croyde village. Should you wish to go further afield Braunton is approx 4 miles and Barnstaple is approx 10 miles.

Booking Notes:
Payment by direct bank transfer or cheque. 50% on booking. Balance 8 weeks before arrival. Holidays booked within 8 weeks of the stay must be paid in full at the time of booking. Rental rate for a 2 or 3 night stay is 75% of the rental tariff, for 4 nights 80% and for 5 is 85%. To calculate the tariff use the rate band that the 1st night stay falls within. The deposit is non-refundable unless we can re-let the property so we suggest you take out an insurance policy against cancellation.

Changeover Day:
Friday changeover day for week and weekends. Flexible for midweek stays. Departure by 10am. Arrival not before 4pm. Short breaks are available out of season - please email to check availability.

Notes on prices:
The rental rate for a 2 or 3 night stay is 75% of the rental tariff, for 4 nights 80% and for 5 nights 85%. The tariff used for the calculation is the rate band that the 1st night stay falls within. There is a damage/cleaning deposit of £200 that may apply to some reservations. A deposit is taken so that in the event the property is left in a state that the housekeeper needs to spend longer cleaning than usual it is covered. For example if there is sand from the beach in the property/showers if the BBQ hasn't been cleaned and there is pet hair on beds and furniture and if things like dirty dishes and cutlery that need to be cleaned.

  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
