Comfortable apartment nestled at the heart of a large snowy bowl at the centre of one of the largest linked snow sport areas in France, the Grand Massif. The view from the apartment is amazing and there is a small south facing balcony from which to enjoy it.
Conveniently located (on the same level as the building entrance) in Flaine Foret, it is walking distance from fantastic nursery slopes, which link into the wider resort. Next door is a small shopping area (including a pub, small supermarket, bakery, pizzeria, ski/snowboard school and snowsport rental) and lift to Flaine Forum.
This studio apartment has a separate double bedroom with a brand new day bed which pulls out to make a comfortable double bed. There are also underbed drawers and a double wardrobe. Between the bedroom and the living area there are bunk beds in a wide hallway/alcove with large underbed drawers. The living space is a studio style room with a fully equipped kitchen area (includes dishwasher), extendable dining table and chairs, a modern double sofa bed (with underbed storage), satellite TV and DVD player. The bathroom has a bath/shower and sink (with built in cupboard) and separate WC. There is also a ski locker by the entrance to the building.
Flaine is situated between Geneva and Chamonix Mont-Blanc, and has excellent transport links with Geneva and Lyon Airports. Alternatively, Flaine is a full days drive or train ride from the UK.
We love the mountains have found snowsports to be a sociable way to enjoy them with family and friends, particularly with our 2 young children. Since buying this apartment around 10 years ago we have also been delighted by how much there is to do here in the summer.
If you have any questions about the apartment or wider resort please feel free to contact me and I will do my very best to help.
Happy holidays,
Heather
Heather purchased this apartment in 2006
Having originally visited many times as a child, we bought this apartment from family friends in order that I could share the kind of holidays I had had growing up with my own family. We haven't been disappointed, with the resort only improving over the years, we have visited more and more each year as our family has grown. Hoping you enjoy staying here as much as we do.
The view from the south facing balcony is outstanding. There are no stairs to navigate as the entrance is on the same floor as the apartment. The building is conveniently located in Flaine Foret, close to shops and restaurants, and walking distance from the slopes at this level of the resort. Here you will find super runs for children and beginners, on slope ski lockers, ski lesson meeting points and the Grande Van ski lift, linking the resort of Flaine with the wider ski area.
The property is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of storage cupboards/ drawers. We used the bunk bed in the hallway for our daughters (4 and 5 years old). They loved it and slept very well. We were able to pull a sliding door across the living/kitchen area in the evenings to give them privacy to sleep, and us to have a glass of wine.
We slept in the double room, using the pull out day bed. It makes a very big bed and was extremely comfortable.
The kitchen/living area was well laid out giving us and our girls plenty of space to cook and eat and generally relax in. We were very lucky and had wonderful weather during our stay, and so spent a lot of time on the balcony (sunbathing even!) it was big enough for all 4 of us to relax on.
The apartment is easily accessible (no stairs in ski boots!) and is close enough to the slopes and main lifts, ski lesson meeting point to be able to walk in ski boots (there is a bus stop outside the apartment, which we did use also). The location is fantastic.
The property was clean and well maintained, we had no issues at all. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this apartment and the ski resort of Flaine.
A beautiful mountain retreat . The house is right at the bottom of the slopes and had everything we needed from a tin opener to piping hot water. A perfect place to completely relax. The view from the balcony is breath taking.
We had a great week staying in this cosy apartment. It is very handy for ski hire shops, bakers, supermarkets and most importantly for us, the slopes. We had everything we needed and it was a lovely 'home' to come back to after a day in the snow. Useful having a ski locker too. Would love to return next season.
Just got back from a week skiing in Flaine, and Heather's apartment was great! Clean, reasonable size (there were 2 of us but could fit a family of 4 comfortably) and close to the slopes. Also very close to the local bakery which is handy for getting bread and croissants in the morning. There is a basic but nice kitchenette, a comfortable living space with TV and wifi, a locker for skis etc. and a good size balcony with a nice view. Picking up and dropping off the keys was easy enough so no complaints all round.
Everything you need for the perfect skiing holiday in Flaine. Just a short walk to the slopes but you can leave skis and boots at patricks locker on the piste. The apartment is warm and well equipped. Supermarket, restaurant and lovely boulangerie are next door. Wifi is reliable. Perfect! Thanks to the owner.
Well appointed apartment with a great view of the mountains. Very quiet location. Lots of hot water - great to have a bath for the aching ski legs. Spa and bars right next door. Would recommend.

At 2500 metres, Le Grande Platieres, offers superb views of the Alps most spectacular peaks including Mont Blanc and Aguille du Midi. In addition to the views, the high altitude and shape of the valley produce exceptional snow conditions, even on the nursery slopes, making it an excellent choice for families and beginners.

Including, the Cascades piste, renowned for being the longest blue run in Europe.
