About Mrs Donna Manners

We purchased the cottage in 2010 when our daughter was studying at nearby Kent University in nearby Canterbury. In November last year we commenced a total refurbishment and now that it is finished we are so pleased with how things have turned out. We have lived in London all our lives but have always holidayed in Kent since children.

Mrs Donna Manners purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Mrs Donna Manners chose Kent

We love Whitstable and we are sure everyone does too who visits this quirky little seaside town just south of the busy City of Canterbury. The cottage is situated just off the Canterbury Road at the start of the busy High Street. there are no parking restrictions so on street parking is fine. There is no need to drive as Whitstable Railway Station is situated five minutes walk away with the High Speed Rail Link into London St. Pancras is just over an hour or Victoria in an hour and fifteen. Buses also run frequently to Canterbury and a new service along the coast to Broadstairs and Margate.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is situated within five minutes walk of all the pubs and restaurants that Whitstable has to offer. The High Street also offers several small supermarkets, three butchers, two greengrocers and two bakers. Along with several good fish and chip shops, an evening in the pebbled courtyard with a take away and a glass of wine is a must! There are also several antique shops, art galleries and charity shops along with a locally produced cheese shop, cupcake shop and for those of you that remember, an 'Offy'...an off licence! Inside the property we have furnished it to provide you with a luxurious stay. There is a small quaint front sitting room with TV, a spacious dining/family room with TV/DVD, sofa and dining table. The fitted kitchen has a new electric oven with gas hob and integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a washer/dryer in the utility room and a beautiful large half tiled bathroom. upstairs the twin room sports a nautical seaside theme whilst the double room is tranquil in shades of cream overlooking the courtyard and garden. The upstairs shower room is small but adequate and luxurious.

Lovely cottage in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage has been recently renovated and has been done so to a fantastic standard with some lovely little touches. The property is in a great location at the end of the high street and near the train station. The house has all the facilities you could need and comfy beds! The correspondence from Donna was also fantastic. Highly recommend staying here!

Lovely cottage and good location.

  • 5 of 5

We spent a lovely few days in Iris cottage and could have wanted nothing more. The cottage was well equipped and even had a selection of board games for those cold winter evenings although we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine throughout the day and the cottage was amazingly warm. It's a good location for the town, very easy to walk to and Whitstable was lovely. The cottage was very clean, great decoration and comfortable beds, some areas were a tight squeeze for my other half but provided us with entertainment! Donna was really helpful and easy to get in touch with and all in all we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

Fab little place!

  • 5 of 5

Great little cottage which is perfect for Whitstable. It's 2 min walk from high street and 10 min from the sea (slow walk). It was just two of us but cottage is perfect for family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). Nicely decorated in nautical style. Very comfortable. It has little garden perfect for eating out and summer drinks! We were there in Autumn so owner made sure the house is warm when we arrived (they can control the heating system remotely). It's a perfect little cottage!
