Self catering apartment spread over 2 floors suitable for up to 4 persons located near Galdar in the town of Sardina in the North West of Gran Canaria.

There are two double bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with two singles. In addition there is a double sofa bed in the central living area. This apartment is on two levels, with a split level living/kitchen area on the ground floor.

There are small balconies to both bedrooms and a larger balcony immediately next to the kitchen. These do not directly overlook the ocean but the complex itself, so are best suited to those wishing to explore the island rather than those seeking romantic sunsets!

The apartment is well furnished with a spacious fully fitted kitchen.

Exclusive parking is available immediately in front of the property.The property itself is part of a gated complex on the coast purpose built for holiday break accommodation. A baby cot is available



A car's recommended but there's a bus stop just 50M from the apartment with buses to Sardina & Galdar. More regular buses are a 15min walk away.

We have some bikes also which are available for hire at a very reasonable rate (€5 pd).


Internationally renowned as a holiday destination Gran Canaria is one of a group of small Spanish islands known as the Canaries situated off the West coast of Africa. It's location is on the same latitude as Florida and Algeria which means it has excellent sunshine all year round. Like its sister islands of Tenerife and Fuertaventura, Gran Canaria is an extinct volcano and so has mountainous regions extending well above the clouds with stunning scenery.

The south of the island is predominantly a tourist destination full of tourist resorts whereas the North is primarily agricultural and retains its Spanish indigenous feel with regular fiestas. There are a plethora of banana and tomato plantations.

Flights from the UK are frequent and take 4 hours from London, 4.5 hours from Liverpool/Manchester.


Northern Gran Canaria is an area steeped in history and Spanish culture. The capital is Las Palmas. The former capital was Galdar. Nothing on the island is particularly far away as Gran Canaria is only 40km across but if you wish to explore we do recommend that you hire a car. These are reasonably priced and can be picked up from the airport.

Attractions in the Las Palmas and Galdar include its architecture going back hundreds of years. In Galdar you have the world-famous Painted Cave discovered around 1900 and built by the island's aboriginal people before the Spanish conquest. Guided tours are available in English, German, French and Italian as well as Spanish. There some beautiful beaches, secluded beaches and some of the best scuba diving in the North Atlantic is to be had at the local beach, Sardina, which is a blue flag beach (more info: )

As well as the island's attractions there are ferries to nearby Tenerife taking as little as an hour from Agaete which is close to Sardina (5km) and which depart every couple of hours.

Gran Canaria's breathtaking, scenic mountain region is just a short drive away, offering the opportunity for walks through the visually stunning countryside.

Probably what this area is best known for is its peace and tranquillity, its stunning scenery and views of the Ocean and the mountains, with its unusual flora and fauna unique to these islands. The light makes it popular with artists and photographers. There are few tourists and English is not spoken here. It is a far cry from the bustling south.

About The Owner

My wife and I have been coming to this area for over 25 years. Although we live in London we manage to holiday here at least 4 times a year. We were one of the first European tourists to discover this region and are well known to the locals now. Our background is in social work and we are now nearing retirement. I was born in north London and my wife Trish is from County Galway in Ireland.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2002

Why The Owner chose Gáldar

The rest of the accommodation at this resort are mainly one-bedroom. The proportions of our property is much roomier. There is sunshine all day, on the front terrace in the morning and the balcony from midday. The fixtures and fittings are of a much higher quality than in other apartments nearby.

The beach nearby at Sardina is just perfect with its local bars, views out to sea, local children playing on the beach .....We never get tired of coming here!

A lovely property with nice views.Well stocked with everything that you could want.

Victor the owner has kept this property well maintained and spotlessly clean. There is an excellent DVD collection if the weather is bad. We had a hire car and it was easy to travel around the Island. Bus service is excellent. We would use this property again.

Agradable dúplex en un entorno deprimente

El dúplex esta bien mantenido a nivel de limpieza y menaje. Los electrodomésticos son algo antiguos pero funcionan perfectamente. Excelente colección de música y DVD. Se nota la reforma efectuada en los baños y la casa , general esta bastante bien.

Sin embargo el sofá del salón esta muy gastado y es incomodisimo sentarse porque se hunde mucho . Igualmente ls cama tiene un colchón muy duro y lo han intentado arreglar poniendo encima otro más fino con lo que el resultado final es peor.Tuvimos que quitar el colchón añadido y la verdad es que nos levantamos un poco doloridos y con la sensación de haber descansado mal.

Si hubiéramos estado una semana alojados o 10 días esto no hubiera sido tan importante pero durante 24 días hubo varias cosas que nos resultaron desagradables y algo incómodas además de la cama y el sofa.

En primer lugar el entorno es muy deprimente pues se trata de una urbanización inacabada con los consiguientes edificios de cemento como esqueletos justo frente a la casa, agujeros y zanjas llenas de escombros a mano derecha...

La vista del mar es muy escasa y la supuesta distancia a la playa no es para nada cercana. Una carretera cortada por la que andando se tarda casi 45 minutos y en coche, necesario para todo ,unos 10.

En definitiva si es un lugar tranquilo pero no apto para personas con problemas de movilidad, con niños pequeños o con vértigo. Digo esto porque para acceder al piso superior hay unas escaleras de hierro con 15 escalones por los que se va viendo el piso inferior y sin barandilla en uno de los lados en su tramo inicial .

Sería conveniente advertir a futuros clientes de este obstáculo tan incómodo .

No hay Wifi y la cobertura telefonica es muy deficiente.

No es lugar ideal si se van buscando vistas y cercanía para ir a pie a comercios o la playa pero si si se quiere aislamiento .

No lo recomendaría sinceramente
