The Lake

Overlooking and close by is the shore of Lake Vinuela, a translucent turquoise blue, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the province of Malaga a, perfect area for a picnic and where you can take light pleasure craft, canoes etc. Pine trees add to the sense of tranquillity and provide the perfect habitat for many different species of birds. The abundance of flora and fauna transforms this spot into a changing tapestry, depending on the season.

If you are more energetic and adventurous, there are hundreds of miles of mountain tracks for walkers and mountain biking. There is a 4 x 4 centre offering quads and buggy's, horse riding centres, water sports and boat hire on Lake Vinuela itself. There is also a local go carting track and some local golf courses where club and buggy hire is available.

The National Park of Sierra de Tejeda is within 5 minutes drive of the Apartment. It has picnic and BBQ areas for public use and adventure playgrounds for children. It is famous for its mountain goats, fabulous scenery with mountain gorges and the 10km mountain pass suitable for motor vehicles.

Enjoy a tapas, sample the local wine whilst strolling through the typical Andalucian white villages precariously perched on mountaintops and hillsides, one of the many legacies left by the Moors. See the prehistoric remains in the amazing caves near Nerja. Visit the hot springs at Alhama de Granada. Try horse riding around Lake Vinuela.

Day visits to the historic cities of, Sevilla, Cordoba, Málaga Gibraltar and Granada with the famous Alhambra Palace. Antequera and nearby El Torcal with its indredible, unique rock formations. In winter go skiing or tobogganing at Sierra Nevada, near Granada, just 2 hours away.

Join in the fun at one of the many fiestas held in all the villages and towns throughout the year.

The complex of El Ingenio is only 15 minutes drive away and has a large indoor shopping centre, large supermarket, designer shops, cinema, bowling alley & many bars and restaurants. Mercadona and Lydll Supermarkets.

There is so much to do and see you will be spoilt for choice. Any outdoor pursuit can be reached from the Apartment, we have a sailing school on the lake where you can learn to sail, rent out sail boats, wind-surfers and kayaks. The mountains are there to be explored whether on foot or on a Land Rover safari, this is a birdwatchers paradise.The golf courses of Baviera Golf and Anoreta Golf are just a short drive away

Just perfect!

When we arrived following Steve and Angie's comprehensive directions we were amazed at the stunning location and beautiful property. It was even better in "real life" just perfect.

We were greeted by Steve and Angie who were lovely and made us feel very at home. We didn't need them for anything but if we had they were there. The property is very private and the pool was great.

The welcome pack would have been more than enough for supper and more if we hadn't made it to Lidl on the way. Olives, crackers, Cava, ham butter and milk!

The property is extremely well equipped and we had everything we needed.

We were able to cook both inside and in the outside cooking area, the BBQ was great.

We ate at Charcos and had a curry with a view at Chez Spice both of which were great. A visit to the Kiosk in Los Romanes for very inexpensive drinks is a must to meet the locals who are very welcoming.

The area provided excellent cycling routes and driving to villages in the area was easy.

We loved every second of our stay and will definitely return.

Very impressed with this Millionaire life style. Own pool with a stunning view. Hosts available but not intrusive. Tip Top condition with all that you need for a really comfortable break. Will come again.

Wonderful apartment and beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous apartment, it was spacious, very clean and fully equipped with everything you need. Steve and Angie are lovely owners they are very helpful and told us about local events festivals etc.. they are on hand if you need anything otherwise you are not aware of them. We were surprise how large the pool and outside area was with lots of outdoor furniture. It was warm enough to sit outside for breakfast every morning and enjoy the incredible views over the lake and mountains. We also BBQ two evenings of our stay at the excellent outside kitchen and BBQ area although we sat out as long as possible it did chilly at night but it was beginning of January, when we went indoors the apartment was very warm and there was extra heating in the bedroom if you needed it. The apartment is a lot bigger than we expected and far exceeded our expectations .We will definitely come back and thank you Steve and Angie for being such wonderful hosts also the welcome pack was a lovely bonus especially as we arrived on New Year's day

Five star holiday!

Had such a wonderful time at this stunning villa with breathtaking views which exceeded our expectations. The facilities were fantastic and the villa was equipped with everything we needed. Angie and Steve were incredibly accommodating and discrete. There were plenty of activities close by, we managed tennis, the Caves (well worth a visit) and tapas at El Plantano (cheap, close and delicious!). I will definitely be recommending the property to friends and family, absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway.

Absolutely perfect!

This apartment - actually the bottom floor of a villa - looked gorgeous on its website and it certainly didn't disappoint. Everything was immaculate: clean, incredibly comfortable, beautifully furnished. Everything we could possibly need was provided and a really nice touch was the welcome pack of wine, cheese, ham, fruit juice, milk, butter and crackers as well as tea and coffee. Steve and Angie were incredibly welcoming and helpful, around if we had any questions but also leaving us to enjoy a very relaxing holiday. There is so much to see and do in the area, but we didn't have time to do it all, and in fact we were perfectly happy on some days just to sit by the pool, enjoy the incredible views and then barbecue at the outside kitchen in the evening. The pool is a really good size - I thought from the pictures beforehand that it might be a bit on the small side, but not at all. It was lovely.

The area is very peaceful and relaxing but only a short drive from the coast and plenty of entertainment if you want it. Torre del Mar is the nearest beach, where we spent a glorious afternoon sitting at a beachside restaurant listening to music and watching the world go by. There are excellent supermarkets at Velez Malaga and we stocked up there for the week.

We were very keen to visit Granada and the Alhambra, which looked like a bit of a trek on the map. However, going by motorway it took about 1 hour 20 mins and it was a very easy drive. Well worth the visit. We came back over the mountains, which took a bit longer. Going over some of the mountain passes may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the scenery was spectacular.

This apartment is a real find and we were so pleased to have chosen it. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful property in amazing location

We spent four nights at El Vista Sueno and absolutely loved it - wished we could have stayed longer! The apartment was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you might need - and the air con in the bedroom was a life saver! The best part for us however was the large outside area, the views of the lake and mountains really were stunning - we intended to go to the beach for a couple of days but preferred to stay by the pool! The surrounding areas are unspoiled and not touristy which we loved - had a great meal at El Charco in Los Romanes. Steve and Angie were really helpful and great hosts. This place is perfect for a relaxing break in stunning peaceful surroundings - we loved it and hope to go back.

We are well served by the Budget Airlines directly into Malaga Airport which is 60 kms or a 40 minute drive.

Driving from Malaga Airport:

Follow signs for Motril, Almeria, Granada, Sevilla or any combination of the above.

You will leave the airport and pass the San Miguel Beer factory and then join onto a motorway. Keep in the third lane until you have gone under a bridge and then take the slip road towards Motril, Almeria, Granada, Sevilla.

You will then join another motorway – this is the main motorway A7 – E15 which will take you to our hotel. Stay on this motorway ignoring signs for Granada/Sevilla after about 15 minutes. Keep on the A7 – E15 towards Motril, Almeria, Rincon de la Victoria.

After about 25 minutes, take the junction signposted Velez-Malaga at junction 272. Take the slip road and stay in the left hand lane to turn left at the roundabout towards Velez-Malaga. Go straight across at the next roundabout, and the same for the next roundabout. After this you keep following the road A-356 for about 10 kilometers.

After you have seen Lake Viñuela on your right side you see the sign Los Romanes. Here you go to the left After you have seen Lake Viñuela on your right side , you cross the dam, take the first right onto a half roundabout, crossing themain road onto the upper road signed Los Romanes. MA-129. (Opposite the conservation sign). Drive for about 3 kilometers up the mountain towards Los Romanes, passing signs to chez spice and las orchideas, drive for about 3 kilometers up the mountain, you will see a turning to Pueblo Ana Maria phase 2, continue past this sign until you see another sign to Pueblo Ana Maria on the right, there are red striped kerb stones. Continue down the road we are the second to last property on the right.

The main railway station is in Malaga.

From Granada

You need to take the motorway A92 towards Antequera heading west and then at junction 177 head south on the A359 and then A331 towards Malaga. This road will then join onto the A7 – E15 and you then need to head East towards Motril and Almeria. Once you have reached junction 272 follow the instructions above.

From Gibraltar

From Gibraltar head east on the main coastal motorway A7-E15 towards Malaga, Almeria and Motril. There is a superb toll road which will take you to the edge of Malaga, and then keep on the A7-E15 motorway and follow the instructions as above.

From Sevilla

Take the main motorway A92 heading east towards Antequera and Granada until you reach junction 152 where you head south on the N331 towards Malaga. This road will then join onto the A7 – E15 and you then need to head East towards Motril and Almeria. Once you have reached junction 272 follow the instructions above.

A car is essential.
