They thought of everything
Such a wonderful place to stay with such welcoming hosts. John and Sarah had literally thought of every small detail, including welcoming us with home-made scones jam and clotted cream and different types of tea and coffee and milk ready in the fridge for us. The property was absolutely beautiful, with its own garden with a Seaview and you can see the sea from the living room. It was absolutely spotlessly clean and very well appointed. With beautiful gardens all around the property so every window has a view. It was quiet, a short walk from the nearest beach and John and sarah were on hand to recommend places to visit and are just such kind and lovely people. I have already recommended it to a friend of mine.

A lovely off the beaten track place. Set in beautiful gardens with views of St Mawes
The property was top class. Beautifully furnished, simple clean lines and all mod-cons. Underfloor heating in the big bathroom was a luxury. Very much hope to return again soon. Our hosts could not have been more attentive and helpful. All in all a wonderful few days away.

A truly magical spot - highly recommended
We stayed for 2 weeks in Stable Cottage 8-22 August 2020 Stable Cottage: The cottage itself is 5*star in terms of quality. Recently renovated to an extremely high standard, the cottage is tastefully decorated with every comfort considered. The kitchen has every item one might need for self catering - and lovely thoughtful touches. We loved the french doors opening out onto our private garden area with view of the sea. We had breakfast and supper most evenings on the patio table. And I enjoyed relaxing with a book on the two garden loungers In the sunshine after a long walk. The setting: I was blown away by the truly stunning gardens brimming with flowers and scents on the breeze, bees buzzing, ducks and water birds in the pretty pond, owls hooting at night and cows over the hedgerow. It is a true haven of peace and tranquilly with glittering views across the bay to st Dennis castle and St Mawes (binoculars one of the many thoughtful touches in the cottage). There are two other cottages in the grounds. But the gardens extensive and we did not encounter or hear the guests in the other cottages during our stay. We loved the bucolic atmosphere and sense of being remote, but yet having a superb buzzy little pub (5 Pilchards - terrific food) only a 10 minute walk down a wooded footpath to Porthallow Cove / fishing village where locals and local campers watch the sun go down whilst enjoying a beer or glass of wine on the beach front. Fat Apples cafe - a local institution- with hearty breakfasts and lunches is also a short walk from the cottage (book ahead!). Nearby St Keverne (10 min drive) has a well stocked local store for basic food supplies as well as a butcher and two other delightful pubs. The SW coastal path is on the doorstep and so a perfect spot for keen walkers. The owners and charming hosts - Sarah and John - are Incredibly warm, friendly, helpful and generous but also very discrete and respectful of guests privacy. They gave us so many great tips for walks and things to see - and made us feel so welcome. By the end of our stay I felt like I was saying goodbye to dear friends and am keen to return again for a return visit. A stunning, tranquil location and 5 star accommodation. We will be back!
