Stunning mountain view location

This very pretty holiday cottage dates back to the early 1900s and lies in the heart of the peaceful and picturesque Wicklow Mountains. Askanagap is a tranquil area in which you can truly relax and unwind. Walk some of the Wicklow Way, visit the local farmers' market in Aughrim or the Wells Spa at Macreddin Village, 4 miles away. Other places of interest include the historical site at Glendalough and Avondale House at Rathdrum. Children will love the maze at Greenane Farm or the Clara Lara Funpark which are within 20 minutes' drive, or you can enjoy a day on the beautiful beach at Brittas Bay or shopping at the Bridgewater Shopping Centre. There is much to see and do in the area and Joshua Cottage makes the ideal holiday base. Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

Wonderful stay at the Joshua cottage :)

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing weekend in Wicklow!

The Wicklow mountains are wonderful & Glendalough is not to be missed!

The Joshua Cottage is the perfect base for exploring...we had the warmest welcome from Sylvia who met us in the neighbouring village.

The cottage is charming, cosy, clean & tidy & beautifully decorated.

We will definitely be back.

Thank you Pam & Sylvia :)

Lovely Wicklow Cottage in Lovely Askanagap

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely mini-moon at Joshua Cottage. Lovely quiet location, well equipped and tastefully decorated cottage. Received a warm welcome from Sylvia with hints & tips of what to do and where to go. Great location to tour the Wicklow Mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We would definitely recommend Joshua Cottage.... and a meal out at the nearby Glenmalure Lodge.

Excellent small detached well equiped cottage in a small community 3 miles from the nearest town

  • 5 of 5

Lovely small well appointed detached cottage with front and rear gardens. It is in a quiet village with friendly people. Welcome is warm and the key kepper is extremely pleasant and helpful.

Centrally located to explore County Wicklow. Dublin is easily accessable using park and ride from Carrickmines (45 away). 2 euros for day parking and 5.20 euros return fare.

Wicklow hills are lovely and on your door step. Do visit Glendalough and Avoca (Ballykissangel) which has a working woolen mill and shop /cafe.

Pamela, the owner, was quick in replying to e-mails and helpful in the booking process.

Lovely cottage, great decor & wonderful location

  • 4 of 5

We thought the cottage was charming, comfortable, well equiped and peaceful, only km or so from the nearest shops, etc, but, unless you're a keen cyclist, you will need a car. Great base for exploring the Wicklow mountains, lovely walks from the door and not far from the coast either. Helpful host and lots of local info available.
