About Ian Runham

I'm a retired Ex Cop who used to work in Torquay 30 Years ago.

I live in Staffordshire now with my two young daughters and Maddie the Labrador.

We get to the house as often as we can ourselves. The girls just love it so much.

We have tried to provide everything for the perfect family English Seaside beach holiday. We regard our home as offering the best value in Torquay.

We have built family memories here which will last a lifetime !

Why Ian Runham chose Torbay

I fell in love with Meadfoot Beach Torquay over 30 years ago now.

It's the closest thing to perfect summer holiday location I know.

Torquay is included in a poem by Blake and he writes...The Bluest Bay in all the world, If I could tell but half of the lovlieness of this place you would be here at once.

It changes its appearance everyday so every single visit is unique. It's captivating blue waters and a freshness to the air. Honestly its life affirming stuff. I never get tired of it and hopefully you will enjoy it to.

What makes this house unique

Its a great location, being only a very short stroll to the beach. We are about half a mile over the hill to the Harbourside Area with its Bars Cafes Restaurants.

The Hot Hub has always been our most appreciated feature, but we offer the whole package. All lines all Towels All utilities included in the price.

A full Sky Tv Package and Unlimited Infinity Broadband for those who like to keep in touch.

A beautiful holiday home!

A really well presented property. We had a great time here and would definitely recommend. Our group was two families with young children and there was plenty of room for us all. Owner was very quick to answer any questions we had.

Excellent location, fantastic amenities.

I stayed here with my partner, 2 year old daughter and my partners parents. The house catered for all our needs including a push chair, cot, training toilet seat, child umbrella, and more importantly plenty of toys for our little one. The location was great, just a 15 minute walk into Torquay (although coming back the steep hill was a little challenging!) the walk to Meadfoot beach is less of a gradient and easily managed with a push chair.

The beach hut is perfect for enjoying fish and chips al fresco and the Meadfoot café does a fantastic breakfast and evening menu.

The only negative I can think to say is that the dining table chairs are worn but this did not at all detract from what was a wonderful place to say.

We found the house and hot tub to be extremely clean and fresh and would not hesitate to come back again.

The host was there when we arrived to ensure we had all we needed, which included a lovely little welcome pack of wine and pizza! perfect after our 5 hours drive and very thoughtful.

Shabby

The house has seen better days as also the decor was very shabby including the dining chairs where the plastic had worn away and the radiators were rusty as was the fridge, we didn't use the hot tub as it had not been cleaned from previous use the beds were extremely low as were the settees and the master was on the third floor which was not explained in the description which is difficult when you have walking problems and bad knees the garage was full of rubbish and they did provide towels hand towels and one bath towel for a family of seven the en suite shower was tiny the rail fell off when we used it the shower in the sun bath has the wrong shower had so would not stay on the bracket and windows in the bedrooms especially the double and master didn't work right

Lovely house

A great week was had by all in our group, lovely house, everything included that you would need for a week self catering, a couple of minor problems, which were rectified within 24 hours, a great holiday home, would highly recommend, lots of hills so not great if you have mobility problems, I managed to get my steps in each day and my calf muscles are rigid! Lol, thanks for a great week.

Went as a group 20 something males. Property in good condition very tidy with excellent facilities and equipment though shower head in one bathroom loose. The internet speed only 4mb which is slow with large group using it. Sky TV in lounge was great and flat screen teles in all bedrooms. The beds very comfy and neighbourhood quiet at night.

Walk a bit hilly if you walk to town but walk to beach very close only takes 10 minutes on foot to get to highstreet. Jade the house keeper very friendly and checked up on us half way through holiday. No gas in patio heater but hot tub warm and working, we used several times.

Only minor issues great holiday would stay again. Recommend ferry rides to Brixham and Dartmouth plenty to do at night in Torquay.

Great house in perfect location

This is a really nice house, clean, comfortable & everything you need for a holiday is provided(except an ice cube tray which would have been appreciated to have with our G & T's!). The location is absolutely perfect, 1 minutes walk from the beach & lovely beach café(coffee, pancakes & maple syrup for breakfast & fish & chip supper on Friday night highly recommended), 15 minute walk to Torquay town centre & harbour. Ian, the owner, quickly sorted out a couple of issues for us, the hot tub & beach hut were an added bonus & contributed to a great holiday, made even better by fabulous weather. I think it would be helpful to have a general information sheet, with details of how recycling is sorted, when to put dustbin out, how to work boiler etc. I have no hesitation in giving this house 5 stars & would stay here again, the only slight point to mention was that when we arrived the dishwasher was half full of dirty crockery & cutlery, presumably left by the previous occupants & not checked by the cleaner, which perhaps the owner needs to mention to her.

A £100 security deposit is payable to cover minor breakages etc. This will be returned within 10 days should the property be left in good order.

Rates are subject to change and are confirmed on payment of reservation.

We have a minimum tariff in off season of £295 per booking regardless of length of stay.

Peak Season Summer 2016 bookings will be reduced to £1595 for reservations made prior to 1 October 2015.
