High end property close to Chichester Harbour, Quay Meadow, church, café & pub

Manorside is a pretty three bedroom semi-detached house in Bosham, next to the Manor House and a short walk to the water. We have recently (2017) been awarded 5 stars by Visit England and the Gold Award for exceptional quality. For the up to date calendar please see Amberley House Cottage Holidays website. Manorside was originally Victorian with more recent extensions, and was completely renovated in 2015. It is finished to a very high specification, intended for the owners’ private use. The new garden room has bi-fold doors that push back to the sides, leaving a clear span of 10 metres opening onto a deck and beautifully landscaped south-west-facing garden. This room has a dining table and chairs for eight people and a generous side table for serving. There is also a bar area with wine fridge. The garden room opens into the new, bespoke kitchen complete with breakfast bar, American-style fridge/freezer and new electric AGA. It also opens into the sitting room, with wood burning stove and comfortable sofa and chairs, suitable for cosy winter evenings.There is a snug with a large-screen television, also a laundry room and separate downstairs loo. A beautiful curved oak staircase leads to the first floor with master bedroom overlooking the garden and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom also overlooks the garden and has “zip and link” beds which can be made either into a king-sized bed or two singles. Bedrooms 1 & 2 have generous fitted cupboards. The third bedroom has two single beds and a pretty antique cupboard. There is also a study, which could be used as a baby’s room and has a travel cot with linen, if required. The gorgeous walled garden is completely safe for small children with a solid garden gate with a security lock to the road. Landscaped by a leading landscape architect, it has a small summerhouse with seating for 6. There is also an outdoor dining table for 8. There is off-street parking for 2 cars and a small boat and the village car park is nearby for further parking or storage of boats. There is a shallow garage suitable for storage of bicycles.

I sailed in Bosham as a teenager and although I have lived elsewhere and travelled extensively, my heart never left the village. My family and I recently moved nearby in Bosham and have kept Manorside for the long term. We have enjoyed using Manorside for holidays for more than 10 years and have had many happy times there. This is the first time it has been available as a holiday let.

What attracted us to Manorside is that it is really close to the heart of the village - quay, meadow, café, pub and church - yet it is private and quiet. The south/west facing walled garden is perfect for family times or for having friends round.

What makes this house unique

The views from the master bedroom over beautiful walled gardens to the church and the creek beyond are unrivalled. We cannot claim water views but we have the privacy and quiet that you will not find around the shore in Bosham - what we hear is church bells and ducks!

The picturesque harbourside village of Bosham has a pretty historic High Street, ancient Saxon church, sailing club, historic pub and National Trust Quay Meadow. Bosham railway station provides access to London Waterloo via Havant or Victoria direct. Gatwick airport is accessible by train and London is less than 2 hours away on the A3. The delightful Georgian city of Chichester is 4 miles away and the Goodwood Estate with its famous “Glorious Goodwood” racecourse the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival meetings is less than 15 minutes by car. West Wittering beach and Itchenor Village are a short distance by boat or car.
