About the property

Sleeps 4. 2 Bedrooms. 1 Bathroom.

Recently renovated and furnished in a retro up cycled style. You have freedom to roam around our land with a lake stocked with quality trout.

Situated on Hereford/Shropshire border near to Ludlow. Beautiful tranquil spot ideal for walks.

Set in open countryside but easy access to the foodie haven that is Ludlow. Shropshire is a little known county but has lots to see.

Our village is a former roman fort called Bravonium and of course with have our own little section of Watling Street.

We are always available - if you want us - to answer questions and suggest things to do,

Dark night skies ideal for star watching. Peaceful quiet days and lots of walks available from the doorstep.

A haven for wildlife with some notable sightings this year on our lake of an Osprey and an Egret. Daily sightings of Red Kites and resident Kingfishers.

Springtime is lambing time here! We always have one or two sock lambs to be bottle - fed so if like to help out just ask! Our latest addition is a dairy goat. Milking lessons are free of charge!

The how tub is for the sole use of the holiday cottage. It is literally 10 steps form the bedroom (Behind the bamboo fencing). Its totally private! We are now planning an above-ground swimming pool and sauna for the bear future.

About Richard Jarrett

Retired IT consultant and my partner Becky. Becky is a care worker and together we run the fishery, holiday let and hobby farm. 2015 is our first year with holiday lets and it has been very successful, so much so that we are now planning further accommodation in Teepees and maybe Shepherds Huts.

Richard Jarrett purchased this cottage in 1995

Why Richard Jarrett chose Bucknell

Beautiful location and total serenity. Large clear skies and so much wildlife. Otters, Red Kites and Kingfishers. We have even had an Osprey and Egret on the pool this year.

Perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for peace and quiet in tranquil surroundings, you won't do better than this. Lovely, cosy barn conversion perfect for the two of us. Richard and Becca were ideal hosts, there if you needed them but otherwise respected your privacy.

Our accommodation comprised of a kitchen with all you'd need and expect, with the added bonus of a welcome pack including eggs, sausages, milk and a bottle of wine - much appreciated! The living room was perfect to curl up in, with a lovely wood burner and all the wood you needed to keep it going. Bathroom and two bedrooms off the living room, and of course the hot tub and sauna just outside the main bedroom. What a treat they were!

The property itself is surrounded by fields with pens for various animals, poultry and fowl, about a mile outside the lovely and friendly village of Leintwardine.

It really was the ideal way to wind down from the excesses of Christmas. Thank you Richard and Becca for making our stay so enjoyable. We will be back!

Beautiful and peaceful part of the English Marches we straddle the borders of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Wales. Castles, churches and history abound. We are a fly fishery on our own pool which has abundant wildlife.

Close to the foodie haven of Ludlow with Michelin starred restaurants as well as many more less expensive places serving fantastic food to suit all tastes and budgets.

We are only 6 miles form Offa's Dyke but we have numerous walks from the back door.

Further afield we have Ironbridge with its many industrial museums.
