Welcome To Cabin Uchaf! ("Uchaf" welsh - pronounced i-(soft ch, as in scottish loch) -av, meaning highest/upper/top)

We offer accomodation for a maximum of two adults, with a choice of one double or two single beds.

A close to nature, peaceful, country holiday, where you can retreat from the world, relax and re-charge your batteries. This is very much a unique property, specially built as a future proofing concept in conjunction with our renewable energy business, to run entirely off grid if necessary, but still have most of life's modern facilities.

Set in it's own ancient woodland of half an acre, surrounded by farmland in the rolling hills of the Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire border. A very private and secluded wooden lodge/cabin with it's own private drive through a field entrance with your own parking area, previously used for friends and family now available for holiday breaks. Finished internally to a high standard, with LPG gas central heating and a separate wood burner, giving a warm and comfortable environment for your holiday. The accommodation comprises of large lounge/kitchen/diner, spacious bathroom with shower over bath, utility room, 2 bedrooms one with a double the other with twin beds, a 3rd room is a study. Don't expect manicured lawns, we try to reach a balance with encouraging wildlife with wild native plants and wood piles, as well as having a useful garden area.

Set nearly equi-distant from the north & south coasts of the South West Wales Peninsula, taking just over half an hour to either coast with its stunning coastal path. 10 miles to Narberth, with many attractions (inc Historic Castles) nearby, not forgetting the world class water sports available all around the coast.

Take the time to de-stress, perhaps to walk, write, paint, read or just indulge in navel gazing, enjoying the surroundings!

Dog friendly, we also have many wildlife visitors inc badgers, foxes, squirrels, woodpeckers, jays, buzzards, kites, pheasants, bats, to name just a few!

Wonderfully peaceful location

  • 5 of 5

We found the cabin easily with the directions given. The location is stunning, so quiet and peaceful. The cabin is comfortable with everything we needed. We travelled to Colby Woodland Garden near Amroth, and Pendine sands, but spent most of our time at the cabin because it was so restfull. The wildlife was fabulous, an array of birds including bats and owls. The night sky was magnificent, I've never seen so many stars. We will definitely return.

Perfect peaceful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The lodge was clean, warm and cosy with plenty of wood for the woodburner if needed. The outside area is a perfect place to just sit and watch and listen to nature, as this is the only sound you hear in this secluded woodland. It had the added bonus of the outdoor fire pit with seating area and an undercover seating area just outside the lodge so you can even enjoy the outdoors in the rain! As there was no stock grazing the field at the time, we also had the run of this, which gave fantastic views of the area. Perfect getaway with your dogs. Malcolm was very kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Planning our next visit!!

Fabulous hide away

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is fantastic, we loved the peace and quiet. There are some brilliant eateries in the area, and takeaway's in St Clears. Close to lots of things to see and do, or just kick back and get away from the rat race.

We cannot recommend this cabin high enough, every thing was perfect.

Excellent accommodation warm clean cosy and spacious and loved the power shower and the log burner . Malcolm the owner explained everything to us on arrival and the description was exactly as written on the website. Perfect place to escape the rat race and to get away from city life. Our two dogs absolutely loved having the freedom to run around and the nearby beach Amroth was great for dog walkers. St clears was great for somewhere to eat. Can't wait to book this cabin again sometime very soon.. Many thanks Anthea and Nick

Excellent accomodation, surroundings and location

  • 5 of 5

Peace and tranquillity, fabulous accommodation, everything as advertised and more. Lots to do and see, not far from good food, shops and attractions. Although we went for a break from the rat race and found it.

Cosy cabin in the wood

  • 5 of 5

The property was much more modern than we expected from the photographs, yet still had a cosy feel. It was clean and welcoming. Lovely open plan living area with everything you need in a kitchen, a super bathroom and a great outside area. It was great to be away from everything but be able to get to the sea and other attractions in half an hour. The owner gave details instructions on how to reach the cabin which were spot on and was very helpful when we arrived. Amroth beach was our favourite spot and especially good if you have a dog. We really enjoyed Picton Castle which was only a short drive. The local chippy in Whitland was friendly and the food was good. We have already recommended this property to family and friends and we will definitely be back.
