About the property

Recently converted

We have lived in this beautiful rural location for many years, enjoying Suffolk and all it has to offer from Aldeburgh, Orford, Snape, Southwold, Walberswick and our heritage coast. Our farmhouse is steeped in character from the 16th Century with the barn being recently renovated. We have a beautiful garden and private parking. Downstairs is open planned with a piano and separate dinning room and laundry room. With wonderful french windows looking out over the garden. Upstairs has two large bedrooms one with option to have a super king bed OR two single beds and the other room has a king size bed, and a family bathroom. There is a children,'s playground in the village, a new pub and a great village shop. The station is five minutes walk from the barn, which goes to London, Cambridge and Nowrich Ipswich and more. There are many wonderful walks, we are also close to Rendlesham Forest where they have wonderful bike rides (and a bike hire place) a great kids area and a pick-nick area. We are twenty minutes from Minsmere which is wonderful for bird watching as well.

About Amanda Hall

My parents moved to this property 35 years ago. We used to live in London having the train in the village is a great bonus.

I am a specialist painter and have a workshop show room five minutes away at Bentwaters Business Park, which is very convenient for traveling to and fro.

Amanda Hall purchased this barn in 1980

Why Amanda Hall chose Suffolk

Church Farm House is a very beautiful thatched cottage located in this quiet village of Campsea Ash. The garden backs on to the beautiful church yard. This property is also very central for commuting to Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Orford, Southwold,Walberswick and Snape.

What makes this barn unique

We live in the main part of this house which is a very pretty 16th century thatched cottage. We have a beautiful garden which our guests staying in the Barn can stroll around. There is a fenced in bit of the garden for the guests so they can be more private, which has a gravel terrace and a lawn.

A lovely and spacious holiday property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my six year old daughter and we didn't want to leave! Very spacious yet cosy cottage, lovely furnishing, and very clean. It has everything you need for a stay away from home and is on a great location for the nearby attractions of the Suffolk coast. We would definitely stay here again if coming to Suffolk. Amanda was really welcoming, and very helpful with local advice. Recommended!

Perfect Coastal Cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a great find. I can't recommend this gorgeous cottage more. We had to book a last minute anniversary break as we had been let down by someone else and Amanda (the owner) couldn't have been more accommodating. Within 24 hours of booking we arrived at this perfect location to be greeted by a tray of scrumptious goodies and a beautifully fitted out cottage. It's got everything you need and is home from home. The location is perfect and near to many of the lovely locations of Suffolk. I highly recommend the cottage and we will definitely be returning. Thank you to Amanda who was more than helpful and extremely welcoming.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 4) had a wonderful stay last week in Amanda's cottage. Everything was thought of and more. She and her family were very accommodating and kind. Beds very comfortable and the garden was glorious. The cottage is perfectly placed for visiting either the Suffolk coast or Woodbridge etc. Would highly recommend this cottage to friends. Many thanks Amanda for a memorable stay.

Very nice stay

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious and well equipped property. Spacious lounge that seats 6 plus, separate dining room. 2 spacious bedrooms. Only stayed for 2 nights but wished we'd had a week here. Very nice pub within walking distance (opposite the station) serving great food. Children's playground next door to the pub.

Fantastic accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We had a short weekend stay for a wedding in the area, and the farm house was perfect. Very easy to find, with a very comfortable living space. The beds were very comfortable and our baby had a great time crawling round the place. The visitor information book was really useful too, with everything you could need. A great time was had and we look forward to staying again.
