This spacious Victorian terraced townhouse dates back to 1868 and is set in a wonderful location just a few minutes’ walk from Falmouth town centre, Maritime Museum and all the nearby attractions that offer something for all the family. There are four bedrooms, two boasting original decorative fireplaces with views of the harbour and Events Square, and all with a maritime theme, including the Coxwain's Cabin (twin room) with patio windows opening out on to a roof terrace with table and chairs and the Admiral's Cabin and Bosun's Locker (both first floor doubles) with Vi-Spring mattresses. The ground floor is made up of a well-equipped, cottage-style kitchen and an open plan sitting room and dining area with an original decorative fireplace. Sit and relax at the end of the day either on the roof terrace, the front garden and terrace or the patio located behind the house with its barbecue area. The historic Falmouth harbour, one of the deepest in the world and the scene of the start of many round the world adventures and the tall ships race, is situated just down the road from Maritime View. Falmouth also provides a host of attractions, including the National Maritime Museum and Falmouth Art Gallery, one of the best in Cornwall with a diverse 19th and 20th century art collection. Above all though, Falmouth is known for its beaches, boating and watersports with Gyllyngvase Beach only a few minutes’ walk away. Maritime View really is the perfect place for a Cornish coastal holiday at any time of the year.

I bought Maritime View in September 2013, having been captivated by its character and position in one of Cornwall's most popular harbour towns and I am delighted to share my home with you.

Five favourite things about this lovely holiday home.

1) Excellent location - town, Maritime museum etc within easy walking distance

2) Splendid kitchen, well equipped

3)Lovely atmospheric twin bedroom which Jack (4) and James (3) loved

4) Beside the front gate, the most beautiful, fragrant rose bush and lavender bushes.

5) Finally, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. Welcome pack, wine and biscuits, tea coffee etc. Warm welcome set the scene for an absolute lovely happy family holiday.

Well located homely hub

The house is well situated, at walking distance of the heart of Falmouth. It has all amenities possible and easy access to facilities ( restaurants and supermarket across the road). The welcome gifts and the good contact with the proprietor made us immediately feel at home. Moreover the house has been tastefully decorated. Our family ( 8) stayed there for 3 weeks and we had a wonderful time exploring the region and enjoying the Falmouth-week .

We would certainly recommend this house to our friends and should we return to Cornwall on holiday, we'll probably be back.

A beautiful characteristic property in the best location. You couldn't want for anything whilst staying at Maritime View, your every need was catered for. Spacious, comfortable, open plan seating and eating area. Kitchen had all possible amenities that you could think off. A choice of bedrooms with comfortable beds and a power shower!! Complementary toiletries and biscuits left for guests on arrival. No problems or issues with the property, totally recommend anyone to stay here from wanting a quiet relaxation time away alone to being with families on an annual holiday. You can do as little or as much as you like with the stunning Cornish coastline for good measure - totally worth it!!

Wonderful holiday home

Maritime View is a wonderful holiday home and very welcoming - you feel at home from the minute you arrive. A fabulous location with a 10 minute walk to lovely beaches one way and 10 minutes into town the other. A place that makes you feel relaxed form the moment you arrive and that you don't want to leave.

Great all year round location and accommodation

Great location just at the end of the Main Street. Maritime Square, restaurants and shops just across the road. Everything accessible from the doorstep. Gyllyngvase beach easy walk with fantastic beach cafe, train station and ferries only 5 minutes walk away enabling access to all parts of Cornwall and beyond. Warm cosy accommodation which is well equipped with everything one could need. Particularly enjoyed the patio areas front and rear of property to enjoy views and sunshine. Such a lovely relaxing stay with no need to use the car and to have a great night sleep in a comfy bed. We will return.

Falmouth is Cornwall's leading South Coast destination and home to the country's Maritime heritage. It is the third largest natural harbour in the world and a gateway to a fascinating network of rivers and creeks.

The bustling town centre features craft shops, galleries, chandlers and fishmongers. As well as The Falmouth Arts Centre, The National Maitime Museum Cornwall, Falmouth Arts Centre and Princess Pavilion, all providing a comprehensive programme of exhibitions, concerts and theatrical events throughout the year.

Pendennis Castle is a show piece of British History and one of Falmouth's gems. Built in the mid sixteenth century, Pendennis overlooks the mile-wide mouth of the River Fal.

The five main beaches starting next to Pendennis Castle and moving along the coast towards the Helford River are Castle, Tunnel, Gyllynvase, Swanpool and Maenporth, each one offering an idyllic location in which to take a stroll or have a picnic.
