A comfortable double bedroom apartment renovated to a high standard, with a completely equipped kitchen (oven but no microwave…… this is France) and a large walk in shower room. The double bedroom offers a very 2011comfortable double bed, hanging area for clothes plus a tall boy for other garments, and a CD player. The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating plus a large flat screen TV and Wi Fi.
Both rooms benefit from hot and cold Air Conditioning. The apartment has conserved its original friezes and oak parquet flooring. It is located on the first floor with a wide staircase and also accessed by two lifts. The building was an Art Deco period hotel which has been converted and retains a lot of the charm of that period. There is TV security on every floor and a charming Portuguese couple concierge the building.
This apartment is located in one of the most cosmopolitan areas of the Carre d’Or one block from the Negresco Hotel (where there are good jazz nights) and very close to vibrant street cafes and food outlets, one minute from the supermarkets and wonderful fresh vegetable shops. It is a very lively area but the apartment is located at the rear of the building and sheltered from traffic noise and is calm and peaceful at night. It is 50 metres from the beach and Promenade des Anglais where its fun to ‘people watch’ - the joggers, skaters and walkers; the Promenade is always full of activity.
Bus from the airport takes 10 minutes on the Express coach €6.00 or only €1.50 if you wish to get the local bus from airport to very nearby. A walk to the Nice Old town takes about 20 minutes. The bus service in Nice is excellent and you can travel as far as 15 kms or more outside the town for the same €1.50 (€1.00 / journey if you buy a carnet of 10 - €1.50 if you pay as you board.)
Carnets can be bought from the Azur Ligne office on the 3 Rue d’Italie, next to big Notre Dame church Jean Medecin; it opens very early, to buy a carnet take a ticket and wait for your number to come up, if you want more information talk to the receptionist as you enter.
There are many festivals and activities all year round in Nice including the famous Carnival in February and many music events with famous names in the Jazz and better Pop music world. There is an incredible choice of food from many different French and Ethnic restaurants, and one of the big charms is that even in winter the restaurants on the beach open and many people eat lunch in the sun. A good train and bus service operates to Italy and Monaco, Cannes, Juan Les Pins, Antibes and other famous Cote d’Azur destinations.

Why The Owner chose Nice
I loved it as soon as I walked into the front entrance with its original Art deco tiles Nd the two lovely wrought iron lifts. Some buildings just have character and a good ambiance.
What makes this apartment unique
It's position could not be more perfect, cheap buses to and from airport, shops, 50 metres to beach, everything plus buses to places as far afield as Vence all for the one price of €1.50 Trip or even Better if you buy a carnet of ten only €1 a trip.
Buzzy international atmosphere. Friendly people in building with a good mix of locals, long term renters and holiday people.

a pochi passi dal mare e dai negozi, questo piccolo appartamento ha reso molto piacevole la nostra permanenza a nizza. L'accoglienza è stata ottima: la Sign.ra Pat è stata gentilissima e sempre disponibile per qualsiasi necessità. La casa è accogliente e dotata di tutti i comfort necessari. La cucina è super attrezzata, il soggiorno è bellissimo e la camera da letto comoda. Consigliatissimo!
