There is a smart tv and wifi to catch up on emails. A wireless speaker for your iTunes and a lamp which charges your phone in case you leave home without a charger.

In the ground floor bathroom there are a range of toiletries for your use, and in the dining room you will find a drayton cottage cotton bag for your shopping. In Bembridge you can do as much or as little as you like. You can find long interesting walks right from the front door, you can enjoy cycling trails, you can rockpool or find a quiet little sandy cove or you can simply enjoy a coffee and icecream at a nearby cafe.

Bembridge is big enough to offer local independent shops with a baker, butcher and farm shop as well as a bank and chemist. There is an excellent chippy and restaurants and village pubs offering a variety of food from tapas to high end formal dining. This small town has everything you need with a post office and supermarket, restaurant, cafes and pubs. Small enough to be cute but big enough to supply your shopping needs without having to use the car.

If markets are your thing Bembridge has a weekly WI market and nearby St Helens has a quirky car boot sale on the Green on Summer Sunday mornings. There is also a farmer's market in Newport.

If you are looking for exercise you could try a beach ride along Bembridge beaches in the Winter and at St Helens in the Summer. About Marion Curry

We live in Rutland, about as far from the sea as you could possibly be, but we have never lost the dream of having a home where we could walk the dogs along the sand every morning. When our daughter started teaching on the island, we knew this was where we could have such a home and we love it.

Marion Curry purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Marion Curry chose Bembridge

Drayton cottage allows you to relax as soon as you get there. By being able to leave the car in the drive and start walking or cycling everywhere you notice all the small details of the countryside you are blinded to by the speed of driving.

What makes this cottage unique

The garden is such a private little sun trap, we often spend days just walking along the coast and returning home to read in the garden, getting active only when it's bbq time!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for a lovely stay at the cottage this week. Hope to stay again in the future.

Lovely cottage close to everything

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is beautifully furnished and was really clean. It had everything we needed for our stay. Nice sunny garden and just a short walk from centre of Bembridge and the beach. We have stayed in Bembridge many times and would definitely return. Please note driveway is narrow and only accommodates a very small car but it is possible to park on street.

A lovely, tastefully decorated and well equipped cottage in the delightful village of Bembridge!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights at Drayton Cottage and wished we could stay longer. We loved the attention to detail inside the cottage with helpful tips to make our stay more enjoyable, a well equipped kitchen, towels and comfortable beds. The parking space was a real bonus as it can be tricky to park in Bembridge!

Having been coming to Bembridge for years we know the village well and love it here - everything is within walking distance, great walks along the beach when the tide is out and we even got to see the lifeboat launch on training night which was a first! We would love to stay again when it is warmer so that we can make use of the lovely garden. Thank you.

Fabulous cottage with everything you need and close to local amenities

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful long weekend at Drayton Cottage during February half term. The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean and inviting. We very much appreciated the attention to detail providing useful items for the dog and recommendations for good walks to go in the area. The local pub is friendly and the food reasonably good value. Overall a lovely stay and we would definitely like to return again soon. Thank you.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in this lovely and cosy cottage. It is very comfortable, tastefully decorated and with plenty of character. Most importantly it is perfectly located - right in the middle of the very charming Bembridge village, a walking distance to the beach (which is gorgeous by the way!) and all the amenities. I would highly recommend it and we will definitely be back!

Location

It's a dogs life, here on the island where dogs are allowed on the beaches at Bembridge, St Helens, Seagrove and Spring Vale Ryde, and have restricted access to over 20 more.

Do make time to visit the farmers market on a friday morning in Newport - super gluten free baking is available.

If you enjoy a rummage visit the flea market/car boot on The Green at St Helen's on a Sunday morning. Walkable from Bembridge, but go early to catch a bargain.
