About the property

Falcon Villas, Kalkan Centre

If Kalkan is the best kept secret in Turkey, this little collection of 3 villas has to be one of the best kept secrets in Kalkan!

Three beautifully secluded villas, sharing a large and immaculately maintained pool... each villa can be booked individually, or you can book two or three in any combination to cater for parties of up to 18 people in total.

Each villa is ideal for couples, families or groups of friends - but if you have a larger party, booking all three makes it very economical.

Every villa has balconies with sea views and there is a magnificent large pool, which is shared between the villas and is kept spotlessly clean daily. There is a barbeque and seating area next to the pool.

Location is everything in Kalkan; being very close to the centre, but still in a peaceful and calm setting, these villas are ideally situated for you to enjoy the best of what Kalkan has to offer, without any compromises. There is a Carrefour supermarket - vitally important for any self catering holiday - literally a one minute walk away from the villas. The nearest cafe is no further and the nearest bar and restaurant are less than a two minute walk away. Kalkan market (every Thursday) is a five minute walk away. You simply cannot get a more convenient location in Kalkan.

Villa 1 (Villa Falcon) sleeps up to 8 people and has 3 bedrooms: two double, one twin, with sofa beds in the lounge)

Villa 2 (Villa Bora) sleeps up to 5 and has 2 bedrooms: one double, one twin, and a sofa bed in the lounge.

Villa 3 (Villa Kalkan) also sleeps up to 5 and has 2 bedrooms: one double, one twin, and a sofa bed in the lounge.

All three villas have large and well-equipped family kitchen/diner, lounge, downstairs cloakroom and bedrooms with en suites and balconies for nearly all bedrooms.

The kitchens in each villa are fully equipped with a full size cooker, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and kettle - everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Wi-fi internet access is also provided free of charge and is accessible right across the site, including the pool area.

Outside, each villa has its own private terrace, complete with a table and chairs for alfresco dining (in case you decide to cook for yourself instead of just popping out to the myriad of fabulous local restaurants!); there is also a barbecue, spacious seating area and a bar by the swimming pool with additional tables and chairs for when larger groups want to dine together.

A washing machine is also provided in each villa, together with an iron and ironing board (especially handy if you are travelling with children)! During the height of the summer it is also comforting to know that each villa is fully air-conditioned, with individual units in the lounge and each bedroom.

The delightfully well-maintained site is family-run and provides a very friendly and peaceful base from which to enjoy everything that Kalkan has to offer... as we mentioned earlier, the old town is literally a two minute walk away, and the nearest supermarket - a new Carrefour store, with fresh bread every day and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as all the other provisions you could need - is just one minute away on foot.

The three Falcon Villas can be booked individually or together, in any combination, to sleep from 1 up to 18 people (subject of course to availability)... if you have a large party, just contact us to discuss the most suitable permutation for your group.

About Kalkan Secrets

We are Martyn & Fiona Ellis, of Kalkan Secrets Ltd.

Apart from owning and managing our own apartments since 2006, we also handle rental management for other apartment and villa owners, under the Kalkan Secrets banner. Our aim is to provide other owners' guests the same easy booking experience that we provide for ours!

Kalkan Secrets purchased this villa in 2015

Why Kalkan Secrets chose Lycian & Turquoise Coast

Falcon Villas are unique!! They fit in perfectly with our other Kalkan Secrets properties and offer a truly special experience. They are ideal for visitors to Kalkan who want a quiet and peaceful location, with a great pool, great views and outside space, but close to the centre of Kalkan and all its shops, boutiques and fabulous restaurants.

What makes this villa unique

The villas are within very easy walking distance to the harbour, bus station, supermarkets, and just about anywhere else in Kalkan that you may want to go to! There is a brand new Carrefour supermarket (opened in August 2014) - literally a stone's throw from the villas - for all essential provisions, and the restaurants, bars and shops of the town and harbour can easily be accessed in 5 minutes or less (by taking a nice little short-cut that we know about) :)

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a fantastic week in Kalkan staying at Falcon Villas (Villa Kalkan). Less than 5 minutes walk to the old village centre and harbour, yet in a very peaceful area, we had all that we needed. Plenty space and a well equipped kitchen. Views to die for from the lounge and master bedroom, and nice view from the second bedroom too. Well modernised en-suite shower rooms.

We ate out mostly but enjoyed breakfast on the terrace with fresh local produce from the nearby supermarket. Pool area well kept and of a decent size, and friendly owner and his family on site to assist if there's anthing you need. We will definitely be back!

About Kalkan

Turkey's best-kept secret?

Kalkan is a pretty harbour town, nestling into the foot of the Taurus mountains. It has been one of the best kept secrets in the Mediterranean and we'd love to keep it that way....unfortunately, however, the secret is pretty much out already as the UK press has recently woken up to Kalkan's special charm in a big way!

Several newspapers have run articles on Kalkan as a holiday destination in the last few years (The Independent, Daily Mail, The Times, Daily Telegraph)

These are just some of the things that have caught their attention:

Restaurants: Kalkan is a foodie paradise! Varied, high quality menus abound for all tastes, always made with fresh local produce. The biggest problem is choosing which of the amazing restaurants to try; we have been here for several years and still haven't sampled all of them! To help you out we do provide a list of our current favourites (which we are constantly updating) and most of our guests pop their personal recommendations into the visitors' books... but half the fun is finding your own favourites :)

Beaches: Kalkan has its own shingle beach and there are several bathing platforms and beach clubs around the bay, offering sun loungers and parasols with bar and snack facilities for a small fee. The next nearest beach is at Kaputas, an easy ten minute drive or bus journey away. But the jewel in the crown of local beaches has to be Patara Beach - 18 kilometres of golden sand and nothing much else, apart from a few people and a cafe/snack bar at one end! Only a twenty minute drive/bus journey from Kalkan, Patara is also an area of historical significance. Did you know that Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) was born here?

Boat trips are a very popular way of combining relaxation with education (if you really want to take it that seriously...) There's a myriad of boats available for daily hire in Kalkan bay and they can take you for a simple gentle cruise around the bay and neighbouring coastline, or go for a full-blown seven day cruise. It's up to you, but either way the scenery is breathtaking... all set against the backdrop of that gorgeous turquoise sea!

Places of historical interest and/or natural beauty: Xanthos, Letoon, Patara, the sunken city of Kekova, Saklikent Gorge, Pamukkale/Hieropolis... the list goes on. Various civilisations have left their mark on this area over the centuries - Greek, Roman, Lycian, Ottoman and others.

Walking: trekking the Lycian Way is a very popular activity for the more active holidaymaker; there are numerous sites of great historical importance and general interest along the coastline. We will be pleased to put you in touch with some of the organisers of these walks.

Diving and watersports: there is a PADI diving club/school in Kalkan bay and various beach clubs, catering for a variety of watersports including waterskiing and jetskiing.

Or, of course, just chill out with a cool drink and sunbathe by the stunning pool!
