About the property

Converted windmill with annex and 10 x 6 metre pool on a 1000 m2 walled plot. Providing seclusion and privacy but only a short walk to all the amenities that Cercal has to offer. The windmill has a cosy lounge with woodburner, an ensuite double bedroom and a single bedroom with an adjacent toilet.

The annex has a large kitchen diner with an open fire and bread oven, a double bedroom and a bathroom. Set in pleasant gardens with 360 views of the surrounding area - perfect.

Beautiful! Very atmospheric and unique. Lots of charm and character but good modern facilities.

Windmill Hill is just as it sounds ! A windmill on a hill overlooking beautiful countryside and when the weather is fair, a sunny spot to relax and unwind.

The Mill, Annexe, garden, courtyard and pool were well maintained and would comfortably sustain a family holiday for 6 particularly in the summer months.

Our visit wasn't blessed with best weather sadly but this did not detract from the beauty of the setting or the hospitality that the Mill afforded us. It was pretty chilly in the evening tho' and blankets and hot water bottles ( provided at the property) were put to good use as were the heaters. Cosy inside once the heaters kicked in, the kitchen was simply but well equipped and family suppers were enjoyed around the beautiful large dining table.

Fred, the manager, was welcoming and helpful and showed us around on our arrival.

The owners were also very helpful and responded to queries efficiently and courteously.

We would definitely recommend Windmill Hill to anyone wanting to enjoy peace and tranquility and beautiful countryside. Being almost a two hour drive from Faro it had the additional benefit for us of being removed from the tourist areas. Few people spoke English so it felt that we were experiencing a true taste of Portugal . It is a beautiful place to stay and we highly recommend it.

Superbe propriété , mais manque de vaisselle et chemin d'accès pas du tout pratique surtout en moto . Prévoir de mettre la filtration de la piscine 1 ou 2 jours avant car à notre arrivée l'eau était trouble et commençait à verdir et beaucoup d'insectes flottaient en surface .La communication avec le responsable un peu compliqué car il ne parle que l'Anglais et le Portuguais vraiment dommage !

Owner's Response: Il est très agréable que vous décrivez le moulin comme superbe, mais certains de vos autres commentaires sont décevants. Habituellement, notre gestionnaire reçoit des compléments lumineux de nos invités. Il fait un excellent travail en maintenant la piscine et est toujours disponible pour aider et donner des conseils. En parlant anglais et portugais, il parle aussi néerlandais (sa langue maternelle). Nous avons essayé de communiquer avec vous en français au téléphone et lorsque cela s'est révélé difficile, nous vous avons invité à nous envoyer un courriel en français sur les préoccupations que vous aviez, mais vous avez choisi de ne pas le faire. Nous ne savons pas ce que la vaisselle que vous ressentez est manquante. Il y a 10 pièces de la plupart des vaisselles qui semblent plus que suffisantes pour les quatre personnes de votre groupe. Nous sommes également perplexes par votre description de la route d'accès. Il n'y a qu'un très court tronçon de route qui n'est pas revêtu (environ 500 mètres), mais il est parfaitement adapté à tous les types de véhicules, y compris les motos. Pour conclure, je suis désolé de ne pas répondre à vos attentes.
