Craggy Nook is a set of luxury guest apartments sitting directly on the beach on the beautiful island of Barbados. As you walk into Craggy Nook you are greeted by amazing views of the ocean and the clean modern lines of the building. When you step out of the door onto the glorious stretch of white coral sand you can either snorkel and swim with turtles in the crystal clear waters of Hastings beach, take a stroll to the beginning of the popular Hastings Boardwalk about 300 meters in one direction or walk to one of the best surf spots on the south coast at Brandon’s which is about 500 meters in the opposite direction.

Located on the south coast of the island and right across the street from the recently opened Buzo Osteria Italiana restaurant, Craggy Nook is in a prime beachfront location. We are easily accessible and in close proximity to many shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The area is peacefully adorned with coconut trees and all the excitement of the south coast nightlife is just a few minutes away.

Craggy Nook is divided into three separate units:

The ground floor unit, also known as the “Hawksbill” unit (after the endangered species of sea turtle that comes to nest on many beaches along the island) which offers 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms (one en-suite), open plan living and dining room, kitchen and patio.

The middle unit “Green Monkey” (named after the infamous Barbados green monkey which can be seen at the Barbados Wildlife Reserve in St. Peter or on any mango tree around the island) offers 3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms (one en-suite), open plan living and dining room, kitchen and patio.

The penthouse unit, affectionately known as the “Flying Fish” (one of the national symbols of Barbados) offers 2 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms (one en-suite), open plan living and dining room, kitchen and patio.

Each unit at Craggy Nook features an open plan living and dining area, the kitchens are fitted with stainless steel Bosch appliances and a Smeg dishwasher.

Not private and not secure

This was the most unpleasant and insecure vacation property we have ever stayed at. The privacy and intrusions from locals made our holiday very unpleasant. Being right next to a hotel when you wish not to be in a hotel and next to a public access was in no way a private or sence of feeling secure. I would certainly not bring my family and children there. Reaching the manager was imposible. The other guests in the condo gives you a feeling of no privacy. Do not recomend

Owner's Response: Dear Anonymous We are very sorry that you had such a bad experience and would like to do whatever we can to address your concerns. My team and I at Craggy Nook go to untold lengths to ensure that our guests are happy, well looked after and enjoy their stay with us. We are always striving to improve our level of service and so, on receiving word of your review, I personally contacted each guest who stayed with us during the month of May to see if they had any unreported concerns or issues during their stay. No one had any issues whatsoever, in fact all of the responses were positive and almost all are planning to return. There were no complaints reported to a single member of our team. Our property manager is always on call 24/7 and is always available. Furthermore, we have no record of any arrivals on May 8th 2016 in our calendar which you have listed as your arrival date, so please tell us which apartment you stayed in and which apartment were the guests that disturbed you? As is outlined in our “policy of stay” we like to encourage an amicable environment among our guests. With regards to security, we are upfront with our guests on booking about any concerns they may have while staying at a beachfront property. As there are no private beaches in Barbados, interactions with locals on public property is unavoidable and is actually a much beloved attribute of our island which visitors to Barbados often enjoy. Our guests have never had intrusive or unwelcoming interactions with locals on our property and there have been no infringements on their privacy. Our property is fully enclosed with coded gate entry, security lighting, security guards on duty and members of staff who safeguard the property during the day. It is unfortunate that you felt so strongly against being located next door to a hotel when there are hotels all along the south coast of the island. There are many hotel amenities which guests at Craggy Nook have gone over and enjoyed such as island tours and various restaurant facilities if they chose to, or if they preferred simply remained in their apartment undisturbed. I do appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us, albeit anonymously, and if you have any actual suggestions on how we can further improve our security situation and enrich our guest experience at Craggy Nook please feel free to share them with me directly, as our guests' feedback is important to us. Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Grantley Adams International Airport at 9 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Buzo Osteria Italiana at 6 Metres Nearest Beach : Hastings Beach at 3 Metres Car: not necessary

Craggy Nook is easily accessible and is walking distance from many shops, restaurants and bars. You don't have to venture much further than the front door just to have a good time - we are right across the street from Barbados' newest fine dining italian restaurant and the stunning Hastings beach is right outside your front door. A short 15 minute drive takes you to some of the best nightlife spots on the island. 24 hr gas stations and convenience stores are also less than 5 minutes away.

We are directly on the bus route leading up to Bridgetown or heading in the opposite direction towards Oistins. Either way, public transportation is easily within reach. Car rentals are available for hire through one of our trusted rental company partners. Taxi services are easily available all along the south coast. However, since we're so close to the action you may find that walking is a fun and convenient way to get around, and the best way to take in the sights and sounds.
