The Milky Way is perfectly located to explore the rest of Cornwall and a range of places to eat and indulge are not too far away.

Extra touches such as the eye-catching chilli light, local artwork and bold bathroom make for a great stay that you'll want to return.

The fully open plan apartment has a super king-size four poster bed hand crafted from slow-growing Canadian Pine finished with Beeswax which shows off the texture and grain. Complemented by a memory foam mattress, luxury duvet and marshmallow-soft pillows.

The en-suite bathroom features a spa bath, bold black sparkling tiles, walk in rainfall shower, LED mirror lighting and waterfall tap with round basin. Super soft, fluffy towels and locally made herbal infused toiletries are included.

Sit back and take in the countryside views and admire the Milky Way's features, such as the stunning chunky oak beams and solid oak doors that give a traditional twist to this otherwise contemporary space.

The dusk oak Karndean™ flooring with underfloor heating and kitchen with granite worktops and Range cooker compliment the apartment's quality finish. The large patio bi fold doors open to offer uninterrupted views of the rolling countryside.

The sitting area has two leather sofas with television, Blu-Ray/DVD player, Wii games console and a Hi-Fi system complete iPod docking station.

The low levels of light pollution the area has to offer makes some superb stellar vistas which cannot be experienced by large proportions of the UK, although best viewed in winter it is still spectacular on warmer nights.

About the Owner

Wooldown House was bought in 1934, originally a guest house, today it remains in the same Cornish family.

There has been many on-going renovations of existing properties to the more recent conversion of twelve luxury two person retreats, including the "Milky Way".

A total of sixteen properties are operated as self-catering cottages, the majority offer the flexibility of all year, any day arrival/departure, catering for adults only.

The Milky Way is a purpose designed and built accommodation just for two. The layout and furnishing has emerged from experiences offering two person retreats since 1998, this makes the Milky Way a real hit with today's concerning guest.

Travelling north you come to Welcombe Mouth, the picture postcard village of Clovelly (30 mins drive approx). Inland are the moors, Jamaica Inn, Bodmin (50 mins drive approx), and across to Plymouth , Falmouth, Fowey (75 mins drive approx).

The village of Marhamchurch is just a short stroll away with its pub/restaurant, The Bullers Arms and community shop. There are plenty of walks in the area that can be enjoyed such as the Hele Valley Trail which joins onto the idyllic canal path that leads to the seaside town of Bude (two miles away). If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, the walk extends to encompass the rugged coastline from the town, back towards the village, where The Wier (tea room and bistro) is situated. Perfect for couples looking to relax and admire the view overlooking the lake. The charming seaside town of Bude, two miles away, has a selection of good quality shops, fine restaurants and public houses. The Stable Barn is also ideally located if you intend to visit other popular Cornish towns, such as Rock, Padstow (35 miles), Port Isaac (25 miles) and Boscastle (15 miles).
