Description

The Mistal

Perfect for couples or families with young children, the Mistal is a well-appointed cottage in an idyllic location near the Hermitage on the outskirts of Burythorpe. Originally built in 1900, the Mistal housed cows for the Hermitage when it was a working farm. The farmer’s brother had a shop in Malton, and sold the milk there. In the mid-90s, the then owners of the Hermitage converted the cow shed into the attractive, brick-built cottage it is now and called it the Mistal, a dialect term for cow shed. Completely refurbished in early 2012, the Mistal offers comfortable accommodation with lots of outside space in beautiful and tranquil surrounding on the edge of the magnificent Yorkshire Wolds.

Excellent accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Roomy, clean, well presented, good location.

If only I could get a place like this every time I would be delighted.

In particular bed very comfortable so were the seats. Everything done well and all situated in a pleasant garden plus tennis court if you're fit enough!

Plenty to see if you like gardens, historic houses, York and countryside.

And a welcome pack as well.

Well equipped country cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is the best cottage stayed in, very well equipped, very clean,a nice welcome pack including a bottle of wine, enough logs to keep the fire going for weeks.

The conservatory was lovely and the private garden and tennis court must be a haven in the summertime.

Information was excellent and visited some of the recommended local pubs for eating and proved to be superb.

Would highly recommend this cottage.
